Algonquin Motel

Awesome owners, clean rooms and all appliances in room, even coffee and tea! Would definitely recommend this Motel to travelers.

Never will I ever stay here again first I was called after driving 4 hours telling me I can't stay there after getting that organised I show up to the motel and the toilet doesn't work so I called front desk and basically was told to deal with it till morning. Morning comes and I call back to the front desk wait another hour for someone to come down with electrical tape in attempt to fix the toilet, they had agreed to give me a better price when I call back to talk to manager he hung up on me when attempted to call back they ignored my call I do not recommend anyone going here not very clean at all I slept in a sweater and track pants very disgusted with this motel. SAVE YOUR MONEY DONT GO HERE.

The worst motel experience I and my family had.The carpet floor was stinky and dirty. Could see air deodorant placed on all windows and closets to suppress the stinky smell.wash rooms are dirty and clogged, some of small towels provided were not cleaned.The room air condition was not working on a hot humid day (Civic holiday weekend) and we had approached the front desk, informed will call back within 5 minutes. after half hour we called and the Person totally forgot about it. Then send a guy to see and he had advised to open window to get fresh cool air in since a/c switch is broken. No apologies or compensation or nothing.Even though we booked 2 nights and paid; we left the place after one night.Do not recommend this in-organized place to any other people for a stay witha rate of CA $ 132 /night which not worthy for that value at all.

Double the price it used to be at $120, with all that extra money the nice owners make they need to put it back into the rooms. The conditions are unacceptable, microwave doesn’t work, shower doesn’t work and temperature sporadic, NO working AC as stated, towels are old and shouldn’t be used on skin. Floors, walls and windows dirty I can’t imaging covid precautions and cleanliness are important.We have stayed in many motels along the way to Algonquin and this was by far the one in most need to TLC not to mention much more $$$ per night than the others. Not good value even for one night.

Over priced for the quality of the room.If you're looking to step back into the 70's with the added touch of rusty shower, sticky carpeted, smoke/ musty smelling rooms this is your place.The walls are dirty, the towels smelt like a$$, and the beds are hard as hell.I definitely would not recommend this place for the value.

Motel is well worn, but clean and comfortable. Close to snowmobile trails, trail maps available in the lobby, plenty of parking for truck and trailer. Owners are very friendly and our stay there was exactly what we were hoping for.

Our room was not cleaned properly prior to our visit. The towels smelled like they had also not been changed.The AC unit is in need of an update it is an early 80s or late 70s looking model.The door was very difficult to lock from the outside, we nearly broke the key trying.The shower does not keep a consistent temperature and is constantly blasting way too hot or way too cold water.We chose this hotel for its good reviews and it was a huge disappointment.

Heads up — smells like smokers are using non-smoking room. It was below zero when we arrived in the room so had to turn on the heat pronto. Towels holding odours — could be replaced with cotton. There was a coffee maker but no coffee. BYO Iron. The owner is nice, accommodating and the price was very affordable. I didn’t have time to bring these things up. I hope the owner can invest in updgrades as there aren’t many choices in this area!

Very basic hotel. Over priced. Strange chemical smell which lessened with window open. Can hear TV, voices and footsteps in next room. Bed was comfy but pillows smelled stale. Owners are very friendly. Suggest replace carpet with laminate or tile. Get new pillows or wash them. Get better towels.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Managment is creepy and went into our room right after we dropped our stuff off. I could tell because when we checked in the window was open, I closed it and came back to it open. When I asked management about it he said he opened it for fresh air. Very unprofessional! Once you give someone the key you should not enter when they have their belongings into it. On top of that nothing was cleaned properly. Not to mention the hot water didn't work and we couldn't even shower in my room. Do not stay here especially if its a family trip!
