I would rate Instant Tailoring 0 stars if there was an option. Very bad service, rude and argumentative staff, overpriced, unprofessional, and the job was not done as promised.The reason I brought my daughter’s grad dress for alterations here back in April was because it could be fixed sooner, within 2 weeks, while at After Five we would have to wait up to 8 weeks for alterations. It is not any cheaper here, in fact, it is more expensive.The single-layer satin dress needed to have the hem and straps shortened, but when my daughter tried the dress on for measurements the neckline was also a bit big. Sara said she could take in the chest part to solve the problem and charged us $220 in total.It was over priced, but we agreed to do it anyway since we didn’t have much time.When we came back to pick up the dress, my daughter tried on the dress and was very disappointed that the neckline was still big. Sara told us very rudely that if we wanted to alter the neckline, we would need to pay more money and she kept going on and on saying she would not do alterations for free when we were not asking her for any. By the way, my daughter’s dress did not require or have any waist or hip adjustments completed even though Sara said so in response to the review written by my daughter.I never asked Sara to do any alterations for free; I just wanted the dress to fit as promised.If she wanted to charge us more, she should have told us from the beginning instead of waiting until we picked up the dress and then requesting for more money to fix the problem. She even threatened to charge us for pressing, even though the dress was already nicely pressed from After Five. She only needed to press the hem, straps, and the front chest area that she altered, but all these should be included in the alteration price.I do not recommend this place for alterations, they don’t care about customers and you will lose your money without getting the promised results.

Here is why I had to rate only 1 star.I was really not happy with the service. Even though we made a call first prior to visiting, the lady was rude. When we wanted to ask a small question, she said Don't ask me. I don't know." Or we try to add some information so it might help for her when measuring

Instant Tailoring is a terrible place to get your garments altered. Their prices are very high for average services and the customer service is unacceptable. The tailor, Sara, is rude, argumentative, and unprofessional.After buying my grad dress from After Five, I brought it to Instant Tailoring in April in hopes of avoiding longer turnaround times at dress stores during the busy graduation season. Sara charged us over $220 to get the hem and straps shortened, as well as taking in the front to fix the loose neckline. This was an overcharge, considering that this was a very simple single-layer satin dress. When I came back a few weeks later and tried on the dress, I pointed out that the neckline was still gaping, but Sara kept on arguing that she was not asked to fix that part and that I should pay more if I wanted to get it fixed. Throughout the entire ordeal, Sara was extremely unprofessional, asking why I brought the dress to her if I was going to be unhappy with it and at times even threatening to make me pay more than we originally agreed on. All I wanted was for the dress to be altered as promised, but Sara made it seem as if the request was unreasonable by rolling her eyes and even immaturely asking if I wanted her to “undo” all of the alterations, which is obviously not possible. Additionally, one of her co-workers tried to steam the neckline in an attempt to solve the issue, but it only made it worse and left a stain. Sara kept insisting that the stain was there before and that I had created it myself; however, this would’ve been only the second time I had ever touched the brand new dress, and the stain was definitely not there before.I would not recommend this business at all - the mediocre quality of their services may be forgivable, but Sara’s unprofessional attitude and unwillingness to take accountability is appalling.

Sarah was was very professional and kind and we had a great experience. I took in my wedding dress and my fiance’s pants and she was able to tailor them perfectly! I would definitely trust Sarah’s suggestions as she is very experienced and have an eye for detail. Definitely coming back if ever I need to get anything tailored in the future.

Sarah is absolutely amazing!!! I needed to take out my wedding dress and she put in a stunning corset back that was seamlessly incorporated into the dress!! The alterations were also done very quickly, she finished in less than 3 weeks. I highly suggest Instant Tailoring to anyone who needs alterations done. Thank you again Sarah!!

Instant Tailoring is single handedly the best tailoring place in the lower mainland. I have been a customer for years and my clothes and alterations are always perfect! Sarah is very kind and always willing to go the extra step for her customers. I will never go to any other shop other than here for years. Thank you so much to Sarah for everything she has helped me with. 10/10!

I had an excellent experience with Sarah! She is a true professional and a skilled tailor. I had a pair of pants that needed some alterations, and she was able to make it fit perfectly. Not only did she do an excellent job with the alterations, but she also had them ready in a timely manner. I was impressed with her attention to detail.
