Chinook Care Centre

Rather eerie, when you visit in the evening, there was no staff present? You are left on your own to sign in, mask up , and then have to wait for someone to come with a code to let you in further?Rather frustrating.

The place is nice, I just don't 100 percent agree with the staffs handling of the residents. Especially those that need fed. I believe that they are a little forceful.

Did my practicum here it was a great experience because of the staff and residents. Thank you to the HCAs on the 2nd floor - May, Monica, Elizabeth, Mariam, you ladies are so amazing. Same goes for the nurses, unit clerks, kitchen staff, and cleaning staff! You're all compassionate and wonderful people. I wouldn't question putting a family member here at all. Thanks again!

The front line workers are wonderful-very compassionate. The upper echelon are the ones that need to rethink their stance. Their main aim is the bottom line and how much money they can make by cutting the services of the residents and employees. How can they cut services, and hours from employee and expect the residents to continue to have top care. It’s not happening since they reduced the hours of front line workers. I would remove my parent if their was another option - unfortunately this appears to be the status quo across LTC - SO SAD!!!!!

There must be better places than this. They seem understaffed and underpaid, yet the corporate offices are full. Changes please.

My dad was a resident for a short amount of time (almost 2 months) until his passing. The care he received while here was outstanding - the staff was caring, respectful and compassionate, and they treated him dignity, even when he was difficult to manage. They took the time to get to know him and figure out the most effective way to meet his needs. He was treated as a person, and not as a patient. We watched as they treated other residents equally well - they weren’t just wonderful while someone was watching, but all the time. They also treated us as his family with great compassion and understanding, making a difficult time a little less difficult. Choosing this facility for dad to spend his final days was a very good decision.

Amazing staff who took great care of my dad during the 4 months he stayed there. Everyone was caring and loved him making his stay there as comfortable as possible. The room was private and cozy; a much better environment than the hospital.

Excellent care for long term residents. We really lucked out finding a place here for my mom. Staff are well trained, professional and treat the residents with great respect. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a long term care facility.

Great place for Seniors. Paid Parking available for Resident's family underground. Staff paid parking is some distance away. There's also a 2-hr free parking on the street.
