This place is an absolute gem. My husband discovered it while in his childhood neighborhood getting our car fixed. We used to go to a Hakka place that sadly closed during Covid and we have been searching for a GOOD Hakka ever since and we have found it.The food is amazing and so so delicious if you like Hakka. The portions are VERY generous and the price is right. You get the best bang for your buck with their lunch specials. 2 large take out under $22 and it honestly feed us for both lunch and dinner.Try them, you won’t be disappointed. I promise ;)

This is the best Hakka Chinese food I have ever had before.My family loves their fish and Hakka noodles.Coconut juice is my favorite.We will be back for sure !!!!Well done !!!!!!!

The interior of this restaurant was surprisingly nice! Had the weekday lunch special for 10.99, which included a drink or soup or egg roll.The server was able to answer questions about how each dish was prepared, and made recommendations for gluten-free options and modifications. They checked on us during the meal and were very pleasant. Even after we had paid, they returned to fill our water.Food arrived very quickly and was delicious! I had the sweet and sour chicken soup and the Beef 88 with rice as I was looking for something not battered. (Hubby has the Manchurian beef) Despite being described as a dry" preparation

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant for many reasons. First and foremost I was looking for a go to spot in and around this area and Hakka Cottage did not disappoint.The owner was an absolutely sweet gentleman, very patient and knowledgeable about his menu and generally kind and grateful for the business.The take out customers were nonstop and it is a small dining area that leaves something to be desired however I'm not going for the atmosphere. The prices were reasonable as were the portions!The food was excellent, fresh, very well spiced, and what you want when you go to Hakka Chinese Restaurant. They have a Good selection of all the typical Items under the non vegetarian category as well as vegetarian. They also had Mi Goreng options (Indonesian style noodles) whixh was a pleasant surprise.My understanding from talking to the owner was that they moved about 1.5 years ago from a Etobicoke and are beginning to do well. There is lots of parking here and hours of operation are reasonable.Definitely worth checking out!

First time visiting this Hakka Restaurant. Place is like a hidden gem in Scarborough for sure. Staff was super friendly, not sure if he was the owner but he was s polite and welcoming, went out of his way to make the experience great.Portion sizes for all items for were great. 5 items were more than enough for 5 people. Honey Garlic chicken was really good. Prices are reasonable and this is a much more affordable and tastier Hakka option than many others in Scarborough. Will definitely be coming back.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hakka Cottage, a standout Chinese restaurant that has mastered the art of serving delectable Hakka cuisine in Scarborough.Their menu is a veritable smorgasbord of mouth-watering fares. It’s difficult to find a restaurant that accomplishes such a perfect balance, but Hakka Cottage does so gracefully.However, the incredible food isn’t the only thing worth writing about when it comes to this gem. The owner of Hakka Cottage is a true class act — friendly and accommodating beyond measure. He went out of their way to make the dish I wanted (Cauliflower Manchurian) and also made sure I was comfortable and contented throughout my visit. It’s this level of service that elevates an eating experience from great to unforgettable.

Great food. Decent quantity compared to price. Owner is super friendly and the service is fast. Bombay Paneer is one of a kind. Did not like the rice but Noodles are good. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Do not miss out on the dry Bombay beef from here!!! I will be returning for this dish. It’s so crispy yet juicy and flavourful with the perfect level of spice and a hint of sweetness. Their in-house spicy chilli sauce pairs perfectly well with the chilli chicken. The owner is super nice and the 5-star service he offers he makes me want to come back and try more of the dry Bombay style dishes again.

THIS is exactly what I've been looking for in the GTA. BOLD, FLAVOURFUL, and AFFORDABLE Hakka Chinese Cuisine . I ordered four different meat items (the family favourites were Bombay Chicken and Manchurian beef). As well as fried rice, and Manchurian noodles. All of the food was spiced properly, and extremely delicious. Not to mention, the portion sizes were more than fair for the incredible price . While other Hakka places have increased their prices, Hakka Cottage has not! Their lunch special (takeout) is just $7.50 plus tax. This food is straight up bussin! Give Hakka Cottage a try when you have a chance. You won't regret it.

This restaurant is underrated. The staff are very polite / friendly, the food is hearty, and the location is convenient with ample parking. If they changed the interior design from the red couches and white walls to darker colours, moody lighting, and some pleasant background music, it could attract more customersIf you're new: try the Bombay chicken. I've never seen it at any Chinese restaurant before and it was crunchy, spicy, and overall delectable
