Had a really smooth experience getting my evisa from here. Submitted my application Thursday, got a fee payment notice Friday, and made my payment in person on Monday. Got the evisa within 3 hours of payment, and less that 72 hours (excluding weekends) of submission. Now, I do notice that a lot of people in the reviews mention the info on the website is incorrect and yes, I do agree with that because it never mentions the walk in hours (9-12AM and 1.30-3PM), and the fact that you also have to print out the fee payment email with the registration info. However, the email did have a number which I decided to call even though it was almost 5pm on a Friday and they answered and explained all of this very politely. When I actually got there everything was done in under 2 minutes and everyone including security was super polite. Websites and reality not matching up is hardly a new thing during visa applications, so always call especially if you're driving from far away!

The security girl in the afternoon is very nice and helpful. If you're paying fees for your e-visa. You need to print out both the Email 【Notification of visa fee】 AND the Registration information form. I didn't bring the email and had to print it out elsewhere.

Absolutely atrocious government entity. Only accept IN-PERSON CASH payment for their fees… can’t mail in cash, can’t pay by phone, transfer, online, etc. It is 2023, why are you operating like it’s 1980?!To add insult to injury, their operating hours (or should I say lack there of) are awful. They expect people to take time off work, pay for transit and, travel all the way to Toronto to pay them a $30 fee in cash in the 6 hour span they have set at their convenience. What a disgrace to Japan & Canada.

Absolute worst visa consulate experience of any country that we've visited.Submitted our documents via e-Visa application, but payment MUST be made in-person and in cash which is quite an inconvenience.Google says their office is open until 430pm, and their website says office open until 5pm. We are quite far from DT and drove 2 hours down and arrived at 330pm, was allowed in by the security guard but 1st staff told us they don’t accept any payments after 3pm as their machines are shut down. When mentioning that we called and spoke to someone in the morning and confirmed that we can come in anytime before 430, they said “that’s impossible, you probably never dialed through since we usually don’t pickup”, we showed them our phone record and call duration with the office, and they said it must be fake… LOL2nd and 3rd staff straight-up said they don’t speak English, came to lock the door, and walked away. When we kept ringing the bell since they are still open, they went away from the front counters and into their back offices and shut the doors, and completely ignored us.Staff definitely need to be trained on their manners, professionalism, and website needs to be updated with exact office hours for payments and application requirements. Seems several of the reviewers here had similar experience. Good Luck to all who’s trying to visit Japan but needs to put up with this nonsense Consulate office.

Always professional and courteous.Located on floor 33, you’ll need an appointment before you can go. Make sure you have a printout of all the required documents and more in case they ask. DESPITE SAYING “DO NOT BOOK FLIGHTS BEFORE VISA IS ISSUED” on their website, make sure you carry a flight itinerary/booking that shows when you will enter and most importantly when you will LEAVE. Hotel booking information is also required. Payment is in CASH ONLY.For Business visas: invitation letter form Japan, letter of employment from Canada, T4, salary slips, bank statements and most importantly - a letter from sponsor/employer staying that they will cover all expenses.Go prepared and you won’t have to go back. You may not get an appointment in time if you have to go back.Special mention to the friendly security guards. Good job!

The service was the worst I had ever experienced in my whole life. It's the first time I ever write a google review, just doing it out of sheer frustration and in the hopes that other people don't waste time and make sure to keep this information in mind for their visitsInconvenience : went to pay for Evisa fees on thursday, arrived at 3.04 pm only to be told that they close at 3pm, but the website says that the consular section is open until 4pm ! when i told them that they said that they wrote it on a paper on the door. absolutely insane, what good does that do? at least keep your website updated (they updated it a couple hours later after I complained). It's ridiculous that they're so adamant on not taking the payment because it was 4 minutes past 3 ( even though it was not the end of the shift, they close at 4.30, and the payment takes like a minute at most), but have no remorse in wasting other people's time. it's not as if people can take infinite days off from work and drive for hours to the consulate every day. especially when it's only open for four hours a day.Came back on Tuesday with my Registration information form as mentioned in the email I got. and this time they said i had to print the email that they had sent as well. no where was this mentioned neither on their website, on the evisa website , nor in the email I received. I said I could forward it to them or email it back if needed but nothing. they literally had me go out, run to find a place to print and print it outside, all in ten minutes because they would close again at noon. it's absolutely ridiculous to be asking for obscure documents that are not mentioned everywhere at the last minute, at least have the courtesy to mention it on the website or by email. The payment was done in 30 seconds. I don't get why i was made to come back twice for something as simple as that, it's not as if i had to submit any documents, everything was done online anyways.Rudeness : Phone calls are rarely answered, when answered i was met with a person mumbling short answers and speaking as if I was annoying her with my questions , took a while to even comprehend what was being said but when i switched and proceeded to ask my questions in Japanese the person was more courteous and actually answered my questions..I really hope the staff gets proper training for customer service, Strict bureaucracy is only acceptable when you guys do your part of the job in informing people of the right times and documents, don't be sending people back and having them pay for your own mistakes and lack of communication.

The consulate is a small office located on the 33F , after getting off the elevator you will immediately see the security guard by the entrance. To request for the document for the driver's license exchange, booking appointment is required (which is only via phone, check their website for details)After security check, ring the bell on the counter to call a staff. If you filled out the form in advance then you can quickly finish the transaction (pay in cash only, when I visited: $26 + 1.3 sending fee) The staff misspelled my name in the receipt but it was quickly corrected after I told her. I was done in 5mins. The document would be ready after 1 week & the sending time might be +3 days (Conversation was all in Japanese so I was fine with their service, but can't say about others..)
