I do not recommend getting your skates sharpened at the bank street location. I got the 10 skate sharpening pass, out of 6 sharpens I had to bring my skates back 3 times to get fixed. My 7th sharpen I had to bring them back to get fixed, once fixed I wore them and they were even worse. I am not returning to this location, I don’t recommend sharpening them here, I am throwing away the remainder of my sharpening card.

Had some issues with my hockey skates and the OG Mitch working in the skate shop did a fantastic job of getting them modified to keep me skating without pain. Really appreciate the help and will continue coming back here in the future!

I found a pair of gloves online and bought them Thursday, picked them up in store on Friday. I decided to buy online as I didn't want to risk getting to the store to find out they don't have stock (a common issue in the Covid-era). Sunday, changed my mind and decided to return them to the store. They wanted to charge me a 15$ restocking fee! It's in the policy' as if someone would click the terms and conditions of a return. Anyways

I have been going to this pro hockey life for years and I only have good things to say!The staff is very helpful, knowledgeable and patient. They treat their customers very well, and have always done what they could do be as accommodating as possible.They also manage to keep a strong inventory despite offering a large variety of hockey related products.

As someone who’s been shopped at this Hockey Life location for my family and I for the better part of a decade, without so much as a hiccup something happened today that appalled me. I was getting help from a younger gentlemen named Jack, Jack was incredibly helpful, though really I had only come in for a Jock today, I appreciated that he devoted his time to ensuring I make the right purchase for me despite it not being one of the many big ticket items that are a part of playing hockey at a high level. This is the kind of service that makes me happy to come back when it’s time to buy a stick, skates and what not. Unfortunately though, someone who I can only assume is in a managerial position named Jacob came up in arms demanding Jack get off his phone, there was no phone. He was holding the jock he was suggesting to me, despite Jacobs tone being startling I assumed it was a simple mix up and he would take on some accountability and apologize to Jack, but he continued to make a scene. Seeing a kid who I could only assume is 17-20 at the oldest getting yelled at for doing all the right things frankly made me uncomfortable and irritated. I don’t know if it was personal qualm, or based on past transgressions, but what I do know is Jack should not of been subjected to this verbal abuse. Despite the selection, deals and generally happy go lucky environment hockey life provides I simply cannot in good faith return to this location. After thousands of dollars spent here and being almost exclusively satisfied this one encounter has ruined the store for me. I will not be back

During the January 2021 lock down; I still received great service from Dan (one of the managers). I called and spoke with Dan several times during the day; he helped me select the gear & size I wanted to purchase. He gave solid advice and checked the system & did a physical check for the gear. Then he put them aside for me which the curbside pickup a snap.Very impressed with Dan's work.---------------------------------Bought boxes of synthetic ice tiles recently. I was at the 2420 Bank St. Ottawa store about a month ago and was helped by Jacob. He provided great service.These synthetic ice tiles are easy to put together and make a great mini outdoor rink.

Pro Hockey Life has everything you need to gear up for the hockey season with brand named, good quaility equipment. Once inside the doors you feel like this is truely a store devoted towards the hockey gods. There are posters, hockey jerseys hanging from the rafters, you can even hear the grinding sound of staff sharpening skates. There is a great selection of everything and knowledgeable staff to make sure your equipment meets your needs and fits you correctly. Pro Hockey Life is light years better than the big box stores. They even have a hockey net cage where you can try out new sticks (no slap shots allowed). You can feel the soul of the new composite hockey stick and where the blade likes to fire the puck. Aww the sweet spot! The cage's computerized program can even tell you the speed of your shot as it rockets your puck into the back of the net. This is so cool. Just thinking of trying out a new stick again runs blood down my veins. It is so easy to fall in love with new equipment and sticks every time I go inside the store. Jacob- the manager and Will P. provided amazing service. They were both very busy and I witnessed them help as many customers as they could, all while providing honest and detailed service. I haven’t bought new skates in 10/12 years and these guys made is easy. Thanks guys!
