Five Star Tailors & dry cleaning

Tu is the most professional tailor I have ever seen. She would do her job in a way that makes the clothes look like they have never been adjusted. I have been a customer here for over 3 years and they have never disappointed me. Also whenever I told her I need my alteration quickly she would deliver the next day the best service ever. One time she advised me about a new blouse I accidentally rip when I was trying to take it out of the package, It doesn't worth the mending as it will cost the same as the blouse’s original price and this is Honesty. She is a great tailor and a strong mommy. Keep doing an excellent job Tu.if there are more than five stars I would certainly give her.

First time write bad review, make me so mad can't sleep,and disappointment, i don't know about this store onwer, but their washing business is outsourcing, and made my 99% new jacket got scratches and broken, at first i just had a very very small stain, when i pick the jacket, i found much more stain on the back, and they did reclean, and still had stain on other parts, at last i just give up and took to home and i didn't wear it, the next day i found a hole,they pass the buck to each other，i took the picture in their store before i took the jacket, it's already has scratches, and they just let me cut the thread from the scratche, no one responsible for it, a 1200$ new jacket, i only wear 3 days before i left the jacket to their store,then got broken, im so mad, no one reply the message, Good luck to customers who spend here. Btw if the new customers need ask the final price first, they gonna charge more more expensive than they told you before they wash it , like around 60$ for one jacket. But the owner did price refund, that's the only thing i can commended.

I was surprised by the negative reviews for this establishment. I have been using 5 Star Tailors for two years now. I take in things to be tailored, repaired, dry-cleaned. I have taken in men's and women's items. I am new to Edmonton and I had tried two previous service providers that were just awful. When I used 5 Star for the first time I thought it was amazing compared to the other sub par services I had tried in the area. Everything has been returned with great work. I had a whole zipper replaced on a jacket and it was very reasonably priced and Tu Nguyen went out of her way to color match it. When a small locally owned outfit is ran by a few women I understand I may have to wait at the counter while they finish up a phone call. I'm happy to support 5 Star Tailors, thank you for the great experience.

Highly recommended. Had all my pants and shirts altered by him after he did an amazing job with my first outfit. You can see the passion and skill just come out when you get a fitting. With others I had to confirm details. He would be ahead of me telling me his recommendation and as to why. Which is helpful in understanding as not everyone is the same body type. He also has a great memory.

I want to talk about a dry cleaning experience I had with Five Star Tailor and Dry Cleaning. I took a beautiful linen duvet cover from Utban Barn to them and it came back damaged. They claim it was an old worn out duvet which it is not. All they offered was to reimburse the dry cleaning fee and when I said that’s not enough they offered to fix the damaged areas with patches. lol. Wow! I always thought of taking expensive garments to the dry cleaners so you don’t damage them yourself. Boy was I wrong. I see on the yelp page for them, there is lots of complaints of damages garnets that they will do nothing about. I want to warn everyone to use them at your own risk.

This used to be our go to place for dry cleaning but unfortunately no longer trust this business with my garments after ruining the collar of my brand new never worn dress for my daughter’s grad banquet and after not having my other dress ready for the ceremony (cleaned & very minor alteration) after having it for over 2 weeks. I understand that everyone needs time off (which you explained was why it would take so long when we dropped off) but to tell me that the reason it wasn’t ready on time nor cleaned (even after I checked twice on it when dropping off other items for cleaning) - literally handed me the dress in a bunched up heap of wrinkled mess- was my fault because you were trying to get my husband dry cleaning ready on time was not acceptable in terms of basic customer service. If you don’t have capacity, don’t take on the work. If it hadn’t been for such an important milestone event for us I would not have taken the time to give this review and just taken my custom elsewhere- which unfortunately I’ve done.

Five Star Tailors is an amazing stop for tailoring and dry cleaning. Tu and her family run an amazing shop and are always friendly with amazing service. I've been coming back here time and time again.

Highly recommend this business for anything tailoring. I took in a few items that needed small and special fixing and I am very happy with the work done. And the prices! Great service and job well done.

Worst place! Don’t go there. I went for a rush job they didn’t even do it correctly, gave me half an outfit. All my other outfits I asked for another to be altered and one to be dry cleaned that’s it- somehow this came to 215$. I coulda went to a store and bought 4 new outfits for this price. They rushed me out didn’t get the proper details for my stuff. They are rude and don’t tell you the prices upfront, and both times I had to go get my stuff they couldn’t even find my order and I had my tickets. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere more professional that doesn’t charge 168$ to dry clean and press one dress. Ridiculous if I could do negative stars I would. I don’t even want to give one star but I can’t post without selecting one.If you’re going to come on here to respond to my review- then at least do it with accurate information. 6 Indian suits? Incorrect, must have me confused with another customer. Because I definitely did not bring in 6 Indian style suits. And secondly the outfit I needed rushed that I came to you for wasn’t even fully complete the next day for pick up, and the rest of my stuff your staff informed me today you wrote july on the slip and not even June so I wasn’t late to get anything. But I’m not going to argue, just sharing the experience I had and with your rebuttal being inaccurate information people can judge your services from this exchange alone.

Took 6 jackets in to get dry cleaned. Upon arriving I was greeted by the owner who was polite and very professional. She made me feel really confident that I can rest assure that she would do a great job. I was leaving $5000 worth of jackets with them so of course I needed to be absolutely sure that this is a good place. Picked up my jackets today and was absolutely amazed how great the job was. As a bonus the owner also does shoe cleaning, so I got a pair of my golf shoes cleaned. Very happy customer here. Very trust worthy business.
