In a matter of months, Sergey has helped me go beyond what I had imagined I would be able to accomplish in years! His mastery of the guitar comes thru in every lesson... and his ability to provide effective feedback while coaching students with the right dose of theory and technique has been invaluable. There are literally hundreds of online guitar courses that will give you scale patterns, chords, etc... but they often fall short in tying them all together customized to each student or motivating/engaging students to take on more challenging elements. Sergey pays particular attention to these and IMO this makes all the difference in learning guitar (or any instrument). Great teacher. Highly recommended!

As someone that has always wanted to play guitar and has been training under Sergey for just over a year now, I am incredibly thankful to have him as my instructor.I started with Sergey as a complete beginner and from our very first lesson, it was clear that his number one mission is to see his students succeed. After working with Sergey for just over 3 months now, I have learned and accomplished more than in 7 years of playing the guitar. His lessons are an absolute treat every single week. I entered my first lesson as someone who only briefly tried (re:struggled) learning guitar for a few months nearly ten years ago, and left my most recent lesson (only a month in) confident enough to start picking through my favourite songs to learn the melodies, bit by bit. Sergey is great because he always has a calm and laid back attitude, but always makes sure his students remain focused. It makes you feel confident in your abilities to keep trying, you want to do better for the next lesson so you always put time to practice, and most importantly with Sergey you never feel afraid to ask any question even when surrounded by others in the class. I am excited to increase my song playing ability with what the next lessons have in store, thank you Sergey!

My son has been taking guitar lessons with Sergey for about 9 months now. He enjoys it since it's very different from the structured and practice focused style of piano that he's been taking for years. Sergey's style of guitar lesson fosters creativity and improvisation rather than rote learning. If you're looking to foster creativity and the love of music than this is a great choice as a parent.

Both of my children have been attending Richmond Hill Guitar Lessons for about a year and their progress is amazing! Not only they are having fun, but they learn something that they really like. Their instructor Sergey is very professional, attentive, patient and engaging. I highly recommend his guitar lessons.

My 8 years old daughter has been learning guitar with Sergey for last 7 months. what I appreciate greatly , is his ability to make music fundamentals easy to understand for kids. He starts with a song that she loves to play, and Step by step with a well organized method , he encourages her to develop her abilities in playing Guitar.As a teacher he makes sure you take a new step during each session. He is well organized and great communicator. I usually receive a well organized report after each session include her progress and homeworks. I believe Sergey classes worth the time and money we spent. Before I met Sergey, I had been playing guitar for several years and after a certain point, it felt as if I wasn't making any progress. So, I decided to try Richmond Hill Guitar Lessons for some professional help and advice. Hands down, it was one of the best decisions of my life! From acoustic guitar to electric, Sergey has taught me dozens of techniques and skills that I never would have been able to learn myself. He is an extremely nice, flexible and knowledgable teacher that is always available to give solid feedback. The environment of his classrooms (including virtual) are always so warm and motivating, which is ideal for learning! He is perfect for any beginner that wants to start a new hobby, or even someone more at the intermediate/advanced level and wants to improve their already-existing skills. 11/10, I highly recommend!

My son and I have been attending guitar lessons with Sergeyfor almost a year now. We have different areas of interest, approaches, and pace when it comes to learning the guitar. My son is quick tolearn and to apply the theories but he is also fascinated with theelectronic guitar gadgets that Sergey has in the room. On the other hand, I am obsessed with understanding the rationale behind the theories. As a result, it takes me longer to learn. During the week, my son gets to practice guitar when he is done with homework but I only get to practice when there is time (and there is rarely free time!).But no worries! While Sergey maintains structure to ensure his students are learning the lessons, he is also able to accommodate the differences in the learning styles of his students. He spends one-on-one time with me to go over my list of questions during our sessions. As for my son, Sergey blocks off some time during the session to show him how his guitar equipment works...which is a great compromise!Sergey is an AMAZING teacher! He loves his guitar and is passionate about teaching it...in a FUN way! We have had a positive learning experience with him...it has almost been a year and we look forwardto learning more from Sergey!

I highly recommend Richmond Hill Guitar Lessons. I've been playing for many years but didn't take any lessons but was at the point where I wanted to learn more. In just 3 months I was able to understand all the notes on the fretboard and start creating my own guitar solos that I had difficulty in doing before. Sergey knows the guitar and guitar theory inside and out which makes it very easy to understand and learn. Most of all, it's fun.
