Travelodge by Wyndham Kamloops

Stayed for a few days while in Kamloops during a very stressful trial at the court house across the street. They were hands down the absolute most accommodating staff I have ever encountered. Our bookings were incredibly complicated, and they worked it out with us! I did drop a star because I feel like they need to update their system to work out rates and calculations through that, instead of manually punching on a calculator, no much room for human error and had the come back numerous times for refunds because they over charged. They were very nice about it, though!

Super comfy bed and crisp sheets. Nice pool and hot tub. We missed breakfast because it stopped before we got up

The room and bathroom were both clean and well-maintained, and the addition of a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the room was appreciated. The hotel's location is also convenient, as it is within walking distance to the hospital and supermarket. Overall, it's a great option for a comfortable and convenient stay in Kamloops.

Front desk clerk was very nice and friendly and inviting. Rooms clean, sadly little cold the heat wasn't the best and I had to hold the hot water tap over to get a proper amount of warmth in my shower, bed was in need of some updating (slanted to one side and springs in the back) but as a quick stop while I recharged before heading back to work it did it's job. Very grateful for the decent rate and the very friendly service. I will go back again if in need of a quick sleep between long shifts.

Edit: After complaint, a refund was issued.When you first entered the room, it was about what you expected. Mid-level clean. It was the shower that was really disappointing. The shower was completely unusable. There was one and a half shower heads. And a half just spat excessive amounts of water at you. But you can only run the shower for about 5 minutes before it overflowed onto the floor because the drain was clogged so solid. Additionally, this hotel charged me for my stay when I checked in. Then decided to charge me for a smoking fee when I checked out. Even though we didn't smoke in the room. So they have no proof. It'll be interesting to see what PROOF they have. Since we 100% know there was no smoking in that room. Additionally, they will not honor the medical rate if you book online.I will never book here again, and I will never recommend this hotel again. There are two hotels just down the road, should you need a hotel for Royal inland hospital, I suggest one of those.We did not use the pool, we did not use the breakfast, we did not use any of the amenities. This room cost us double the rate because THEY decided, to double charge us.

I will not book here again or advise you to do so either. If you don’t care about appearance, amenities, a decent breakfast or cleanliness of the room then fine. If you need a place to just sleep, then fine. I was on a work trip away from the kids and I was excited to just relax. The room I was put in smelled foul. I couldn’t get the AC to work, the carpet was dirty and lumpy… one section stood up like a mountain. The grout in the bathroom was falling out and was not cleaned up. And there was a birds nest in the exhaust in the bathroom. The pictures online are not a true representation of this place. I was QUITE disappointed. Also the breakfast is a paper bag with half a muffin and a juice box. Thankfully, I was able to get my money back, as they made me pay FIRST. I did not stay here or use this hotel. This is in a central location though and right across the hotel. Also there is outdoor space to chill. But it’s right by the main road and there’s construction happening in the back.

Incredibly rude cleaning staff that refused to clean our room. We had to practically beg just to get toilet paper refilled and garbage empty. The maid in charge insisted that we had our do not disturb sign on even though we know we didn’t even have a sign at the time. We stayed at the hotel with several other friends who also didn’t have their rooms cleaned once the entire 3 days we stayed there. Next time we come to Kamloops we’ll definitely stay somewhere else.

Very very disappointed in a hotel that represents Kamloops by accommodating guests to our beautiful city. Made a reservation online for the family but I used my name and set everything up for them and it was right across from the hospital so they could get to and from it easy to see a family member who was going to pass any day at that time. What happened was were denied because I lived in Kamloops, they didn't rent rooms to locals, there was nothing at all to bring to my attention when booking and they were paying cash with my credit card on file and the hotel staff had my credit card in her hand verifying my ID matched when I said no cash to hold the room she said no credit card must be used and swiped it without my permission then told me another 300 dollars deposit to have the room my family from out of town said ok whatever it takes they were tired and the staff turned them away because of my address and I didn't have the room at my place and was not close to the hospital and our family member died the night that we had booked the room which would have given us the visit to say our goodbyes but instead got turned away. I am not blaming the hotel for the death but if they had told me no before I booked the room 24 hrs in advance the outcome would have been a little different and my family could have said goodbye to a loved one. I was outraged at the service and will never recommend them to anyone after this experience. My family deserved better than that from a local business that is supposed to make people feel welcome in our town not discriminated which is how they felt after this.

This place is disgusting.Walked in and walked right back out.They refused to refund my credit card when I stayed for 10 seconds.Disgusting.Dirty.Intolerable.This place is a Petri dish which would cause a scientist to shudder and quit his job!If I could give this hole in a wall zero stars I would.Want to experience what a dirty rotten prison cell is like - book a room here!Unsafe! Broken door locks.Ghetto!
