Great start with attentive server, quick ordering and timely serving of appetizers and kids food. Then…75 minutes later to receive main courses including the $190 steak to share which was ordered medium rare and, eventually, arrived beyond well done and barely warm. Server was continually apologetic but the kitchen really failed her. Explanation of a “new kitchen crew” was given. This along with boring wine list, terrible glassware for wine and the burnt burger for one kid…avoid this restaurant until it can execute on the higher end of experience and prices it’s menu conveys.

We closed down for a little getaway to Tofino, one of our favourite places. We had an amazing meal and experience at Roar in Hotel Zed. We were celebrating Kris’ 45th birthday and sat at the Chefs table. We ordered the Seafood Antipasto Board to start and the 37 Day Dry Aged Long Bone Ribeye for our main meal. The service was great, the Chefs were very friendly and the meal was incredible. This was our second time dining at Roar and both times were amazing. Highly recommend for a nice night out!

Ones of the best dining experiences of my life. Our server Mike was knowledgeable, friendly, and gave just the right amount of attention. His suggestions were spot on. HIGHLY recommend this jewel. The aged rib eye platter was beyond expectations. Already planning my next meal!

Sitting at the Kitchen bar was fabulous. We chatted with Chef Jeff and saw how the dishes are made and plated.The food was all exquisite especially the Smores desert whi h was gone before we thought to take a picture!

We had our first date night in Tofino at Roar and were fortunate to be seated very close to both the garden view as well as the kitchen area so we could see the chefs in action. The food was delicious and the wine options were great.For the wine we went for Syncromesh Riesling.And for food we ordered#smokedmisoscallops#crispyduckconfit#rosemaeycuredporkchopAfter the meal we stepped outside and sat in the garden and a fire was lit up for us. We were also offered some fleece blankets to keep warm and served some more wine. Service was exceptional and we'd love to come by again on the next visit.

Hotel Zed reviewI found myself sitting here at the Hotel Z restaurant…Roar. It’s crisp and clean with a hint of rustic flare. A beautiful patio awaits you along with the brilliant smile of your server. Service was great the food was very good… in fact impeccable. Very happy vibes here … definitely recommend.

Pricey, but the service and food make it worth it! We went for my husband's birthday and the server was great! The food was delicious, huge portions, and the menu says that they give a percentage to the local First Nation whose land the restaurant is on. Such a great thing to see ❤️

Half of our desired menu items had run out by the time of our Sunday dinner visit; fortunately the half that remained were also delicious!
