Jen has been my son’s piano mentor for eight music-filled years! Jen’s ability to connect and engage with him as a little boy helped get him off to a great start, and Jen’s considerable piano talent has inspired him to continue his musical journey. Jen is always learning and sharing her enthusiasm and talents through adjudication, performing and courses. We hired Jennifer Smele to play piano at our wedding and well all I can say is that she exceeded all of our expectations!From initial communications, to understanding our wedding day music vision...it just felt like she got it. My kids have been going to Jen for piano lessons for 4 years now and she has been amazing! She is wonderfully patient with the kids, and provides lessons in a positive and encouraging environment. Jen understands her students and knows just how to talk to them. She is very knowledgeable, tailors lessons to the kids' individual needs and follows music styles that the kids are interested in so that there is full engagement during lessons. Jen ensures the kids understand and practice fundamental techniques and she has a talent for doing it in a fun and appealing way. Every year we look forward to the Christmas and end-of-season concerts that she puts on with her students to showcase the kids' musical talents! We are lucky to have her as a piano teacher!

Jen has provided the most incredible musical guidance for 4 of my children over the last 14 years. I was so impressed from the beginning that she believed in creating the best musical foundation for learning, upon which they could then successfully and confidently grow. As a result of this solid foundation, my children have all gone on to play string instruments, which they were more easily able to pick up due to this foundation they received from Jen on the piano.The children were always well-prepared for exams and festivals, but mostly, they have uncovered a joy for music which I am confident will last a lifetime. I have referred so many people to Jen's studio because I am confident they will have the most amazing experience learning from her.I have found Jen to be an excellent communicator, which is so important to ensure the parent, student and teacher are all working together towards shared outcomes.
