Tanner's Home Inn

We enjoyed a very pleasant one-night stay at the Tanners Home Inn on a recent family trip. The host and hostess were wonderful, greeting us by name, remembering why we were in town, and providing us with information about the area. The location of the Tanners Home Inn is close to downtown, just a small city block from the garden parks (Loyalist Park and Kings), and just a bit further to get to the City Market, shops and restaurants.The Inn itself is a nice old home, with heavy wooden trims, front parlors, a sitting area, and clean large rooms. We stayed in a room downstairs, which was actually at, or just below, street level. We did not realize that any of the rooms were in a basement, but it was clean and comfortable. Our room had a small back room in which there was a second bed, which would have been perfect if traveling with a child. Also, we had a nice old fireplace in the room, with an interesting surround, and tile work. The only drawback to the room was that the windows open onto the street, at street level, and smoke entered through when the neighbors were outside smoking.The immediate surrounding homes are not nearly as nice as the Inn. In fact, we were a little hesitant when we arrived but all was well.However, the Inn was great, the owners a delight, and the location in relation to the rest of the city terrific. In future stays, we would request an upstairs room.

Room was spacious and comfortable. The owners are so sweet and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious too! We found parking right in front but he also offered parking around back if we needed it. The location was great as it was in walking distance of all the restaurants. Only downside was the shower was pretty small.

My partner and I stayed here for one night while in Saint John early September 2021.The location is great, very close to King's Park and Loyalist Cemetery, as well as the general Uptown area. There is free street parking just outside the inn.While we did not opt in for breakfast [because we were getting an early start at 0700h], Dorina was still awake and had coffee, juice, and a few cookies put for us to start our day before checking out. You can tell she puts a lot of care and effort into being a good host which is always appreciated.We stayed in The Rose room, which is a spacious room with a private ensuite bathroom. The bed was comfortable, WiFi seemed good (although we barely used it), the room felt clean.There is a fridge in the hallway upstairs that is shared by all guests.Overall I would recommend staying at Tanners Home Inn for the hospitality and location.However this is not an appropriate place for someone with mobility issues since there are a handful of steep stairs to get in to the house from the street, as well as no elevator to the second floor where the rooms are located.

My husband, Ron, and I recently stayed at Tanner's B&B for 3 nights. Our hostess Doreine was amazing. Breakfast was perfect with an added touch each morning of a surprise home made baked dessert to taste, our room was very comfortable and clean. Thank you Doreine for making our visit to your lovely city a true pleasure.

Not a typical hotel room. If you’re a person loves historical places, this vintage B&B is perfect for you. Our host Dorina was super nice and treated us a lovely breakfast.

Stayed one night after doing a short research. So it is true. It's definitely a great place to stay. Host is very warming and the place is nice and clean. Room is spacious and a separate huge ensuite for my own use. Highly recommended.

Dorina and her husband were great hosts!The house was clean and simply authentic; high floors, big rooms, vintage furnitures and pieces of art.And it’s very close to the downtown -10mins walk to everywhere-.The room we (my husband & I) stayed had half-hexagonal shaped big windows and a very comfy bed. Though our bathroom was outside the room, it was private to us.The wifi was very good, I had couple work calls in the dining room, next to the kitchen.You will definitely enjoy your stay!

Great place to stay. Room was very clean and comfortable. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was amazing. I stayed at the Tanner's Inn for 3 days. I enjoyed my stay and would highlyrecommend it to anyone visiting Saint John.

Dorina is a gem of a host! We had a wonderful stay. The breakfasts she prepared for us were very tasty and satisfying!

Our host was beyond hospitable and helpful. We had a comfortable stay in a beautiful victorian room, delicious breakfast food and above all loved sharing life stories. Our time in New Brunswick was elevated as a result of this accommodation. Would highly recommend.
