Atlantic Gondola

It was a brilliant experience. Even though, it was hot, we really enjoyed the whole thing. Highly recommended.

Terrible, overpriced, trail wasn’t that nice, basic trail walk, went to the lake super tiny. Feel ripped off. Met other people on the trail who couldn’t wait to get off the trail walk. Don’t waste your time or money.

Atlantic Gondola is located in Cape Smokey, Cape Breton Island. Its just off the Cabot Trail Rd before the Ingonish Beach. This aerial tramway is to facilitate the skiers to go to the peak to ski downhill. As it’s a cable car type gondola you have to remove your skies every time you go up however there are spaces available outside every car to put your skies in to take with.Gondola doesn’t go too high as that is the pretty much hight of the mountain and neither it’s a cross mountain gondola though it’s only gondola of Atlantic Canada.There is a good site seeing and sitting area up top. Snacks and drinks are also available both at up top and down below. You can also take your own food in the tramway and you can spend as much time as you want up there but don’t forget the last car goes down at 6:15pm.There is around an hour walk trail up there which takes to a remote big lake ‘Ski Lodge Lake’ which I believe one of highest known lakes of Nova Scotia. Moose are witnessed occasionally around the trail so caution should be taken always.

A must visit place once in a life time during the month of Oct to enjoy the real beauty of nature and see the beautiful colors of maple trees. It's like a dream land, water on one side and enjoy the colorful mountains on the other side. Don't forget to ride on gondola.
