Not sure if it's new owners but was expecting sooooo much better after reading the reviews. Probably the worse sushi I have ever had. Couldn't eat the tempura or the crunch roll.. would not recommend

Would recommend. Sushi made fresh and quickly! Nice atmosphere, service was excellent, and very easy to get to in town.

Really disappointed, ordered a dinamite roll, spicy tuna roll and a miso soup. Basic rolls. The soup was $2,75 and contained half in the container, it was tasty though. However the rolls had absolutely no taste on the rice and the fish wasn’t fresh. Couldn’t finish my food. I was sick the best morning.

Great sushi every time. I was here a few years ago, and glad I came back. Excellent sushi. Been here twice this week, and will keep coming back. Yesterday, was dine in, today is take away. This place does get slammed, so be prepared to wait. If you get in, or can order right away, make sure you take advantage.

Came here visiting from the mainland. Ordered the platter 1 and some other pieces of sushi. Presented nicely and tasted great. Thank you for the nice meal.

Decent sushi place. They make it fresh and the cooked food is quite tasty. We have teriyaki chicken and beef and a chicken donburi and a California roll and dynamite roll combo. Lots of tasty veggies. The miso soup was on the salty side though. Prices are higher than Vancouver but that's what you expect on the island.

I lived on Bowen for several years, and the enduring highlight of my time on the island was frequenting John's magnificent restaurant. We were well acquainted with Sushi before moving to the island, as it was practically a staple when we lived in Vancouver, and John's skills were certainly equal to the standard set in the city. Every visit was a pleasure, as John is not only a very accommodating host, he is also held in particularly high regard by the local community for his gentle, generous, and kind nature. Now that we've moved from the island, we dearly miss seeing our good friend John, and eating at his fabulous restaurant.

Bowen Sushi To Go
We came to Bowen Island from Vancouver for a few days to relax. And we were surprised with how good the food here was. I had inari rolls and they were of such a great quality. I also got the California roll, yam and avo roll and both were so good. We’re used to sushi from Vancouver and this shop didn’t disappoint. Highly recommend.My husband got the teriyaki and bibimbap both very delicious and good quality.
