Puppet Theatre Barge - Richmond

Was expecting Punch and Judy stuff but it was much more lovely than that. Tales of woodland critters with amazing lighting and artistic backdrops. Even for adults the experience of getting on a boat and seeing a puppet show is quite a magical one. Recommended.

So amazing to see the puppet barge back in Richmond. What a beautiful unique place and astonishing puppetry, truely the last stronghold of the marionette.

Parked at the river bend near the Terrace Gardens before Petersham Meadows. Absolutely loved this. What a wonderful place - fascinating! Our young one was transfixed throughout the hour long play. Loved this converted river barge. Go early.. Check out their displays throughout out the barge. Be spellbound by the intricate construction and manipulation of puppets. They have central heating and refreshments are served during the interval. The puppeteers together with their puppetry are amazing, superb choreography of lighting and props - So glad we made it here today. Highly recommended.
