Worst company, never ever do any kind of business with this company. I booked car from here two times 1 months ago but an hour before the pick up, they cancelled, because they give the car if anybody is willing to pay more. They are betrayal, they are monopoly here in listowel and they do not care anything about customer. If you rent it from Kitchener it is way cheaper as well. -1000000000000 rating.

Listowel discount rentals is a joke. Called to reserve a rental for an important trip and got told to call back in a couple days as they were low on inventory... called back when i was told to and was informed they would not have a rental availble for the date needed. This left me scrambling to figure out how to make it where i needed to go. Exteremly unprofessional staff

They don’t answer the phone and don’t even allow you to leave a message. What a terrible way to run a car rental business . Unbelievable!

Reserved a truck to move with a month before our moving date.Four days before our moving date I checked back on reservation. I was told they would check into it for me. I asked to be contacted later that day to confirm reservation.No contact was made with me until two days later. At that time I was informed that no truck would be available to me because I only wanted it for one day.This a very poor way to do business especially when the truck was reserved one month before our moving date. Then 48 hours before our moving date, we are hung out to dry because we needed truck for just one day.This is a company that does not care about customer satisfaction. I would not trust this company's word ever again!

Great customer service

Very dissatisfied with this location (Listowel ON) and unfortunately with the company customer service overall.Below is some insight into how this location operates based on my experience:1. You call them 2 weeks in advance and are told by the local CSR you can’t reserve a car over the phone. You must use company’s website booking system.2. You book a car online for 2 weeks and select Listowel location for pick up. You get email confirmation with booking number.3. You get automated email reminders to collect your car close to the pick up day which is very nice.4. You fly across the country, show up in Listowel on pick up day and you are told there is no car for you. 5. The lady at the desk says it’s not her fault it’s the company’s booking system’s fault.6. We ask why there is no car despite having a confirmation and are told the reservation is not really valid as they have to physically call you on the phone to confirm prior to pick up. We ask why no one called us and are told it’s because our phone number starts with 403 (we’re from Calgary).7. I do my best not to laugh out loud and point out how ridiculous this sounds but she gets defensive.8. To be fair to the lady at the desk, she does try to help by hoping that someone might drop a car in the afternoon and she also offers us a drop off and potential pick up later that day but our confidence and trust is not there by that time.9. Seeing there is clearly no car for us, we decide not to waste time and cancel our apparently existing but at the same time non existing reservation.10. We also decide to call Discount customer care to discuss this experience. We wait a long time on hold and get a CSR who we guess is located in the US. He is apologetic but has no idea where Listowel ON is. He notes down the details and promises to contact Listowel discount manager who is supposedly going to call us back to attempt to resolve this issue.11. Again, not holding our breath, we get a ride to Kitchener and use our previous rental company. Turns out they can take reservations over the phone, are happy to have our business again and find us a car for 2 weeks.Final thoughts after this experience and questions to Listowel Discount ManagerNo one has contacted us regarding this issue and at least offered an apology.If you’re in a car rental business but you have no cars for customers then what kind of business are you running?Chatting with locals about our experience we find out this is not an uncommon practice for this location. Another reviewer has also pointed this out.How do you expect customers to take your business seriously when they follow your booking process just to find out it was all in vain.Since, according to the local CSR, the company created the problem, why isn’t the company trying to resolve it?Thankfully, there are other companies in Kitchener which are pleasant and professional in how they conduct their business.No worries, my wife and I won’t hold our breath and wait for the phone call from manager.If you’re from out of town, stick with Kitchener for you car rental needs. Listowel Discount is not worth it.
