I had this not so good experience with the college admission. I applied and gave my COPR as proof that I am a resident but Gail was hesitant to admit me because she was looking for my PR card in which i haven't had yet because of the delay of the process from IRCC. She was looking for another proof and I told her that it is the only proof I have because I only downloaded it online from the portal. Then she asked another lady, so they accepted my application but she told me to bring my PR card as proof. I had to call IRCC about it and they told me that my COPR is already a sufficient proof of my status and that the school doesn't need to ask for my PR card. Since I was very worried, I called the admission again and informed them of what IRCC told me to relay to the school. The lady from the admission, who answered the phone, was very aggressive in telling me that my application has no problem whatsoever. I told her I just want to make sure because they were hesitant during my application in the campus but she was belligerent in telling me that they were not hesitant because she was there during my application and that she explained it to me already. My point is, she should not be that aggressive in defending her co-worker. She should understand my situation in which I am very worried. She could've just explain it to me in a nice way but she was talking in a sense that I don't understand her point at all which is not nice. People working in the admission where they talk to new applicants and new students should be nice and understanding and should be very patient so that they will not scare the students and drive them away. I hope the administration will look into this matter seriously. Thank you

I've really enjoyed studying here, this past year I have had a great instructor and an overall positive experience. The school has helped me a great deal to get to a better place in life and I will always appreciate them for that :D

My niece arrived 2 days late due to delayed flight and her admission was cancelled. They didnt even bother to listen to her. She came from very far, paid full tuition fees and accomodation fees, and they didnt even care. I found that absolutely outrageous and no, I do not recommend this college for students who might need to travel to BC by air. These days flights are always late and why cancel admission for being 2 days late? I am surprized to see any positive reviews given our experience as a family. If there was a zero star thats what I would give.

Incredible college, particularly for Business studies With the small class sizes, you will get to connect with the instructors and peers. Even though Some instructors from the tourism departments are a negative vibe, particularly one he will make your studies more difficult

I really liked NIC. Although I only attended distance classes due to the pandemic, they do have an absolutely beautiful campus. As I understand it there are still a couple of classes that stick students out in the decrepit trailers around back but rumor also has it they're building some student housing soon which will be phenomenal. The education that I received at NIC was actually pretty top-notch. I transferred to VIU and I have to say, of the two identically titled courses, NIC was really, really good at knowing what students needed to get hired, had a great place (although the course load seemed like a lot at times, that's just how school goes, and it's the same thing in the workforce), any instructors were excellent. Well, I'll accept one. It actually kind of blows my mind that this instructor in particular is still at NIC, considering what I witnessed personally and the amount of complaints launched against him. That is the one and only aspect that I wish NIC could improve upon, especially considering the circumstances of the issues in question.

They like to pretend they’re inclusive and supportive of indigenous people but they absolutely aren’t! “Indigenous priority placement” is a joke they go out of their way to make indigenous students feel less than by changing the rules to prevent them from getting those seats. For such an “inclusive” college they have the lowest amount of indigenous students I’ve ever seen. Racism is alive in the Comox valley!!

Best education experience ever. Every teacher I met in the social science, humanities, English, and biology department were incredible and didn’t hesitate to offer assistance and make you feel welcome & important. Tuition is as reasonable as it gets and the campus is absolutely beautiful. There is no on site housing here and the only downside is there is very little housing available to both local and international students .

Nice facilities and some great instructors. However, policy protecting students is outdated and they have some questionable staff members. One of the women in admissions hates her job, hopefully you don't have to deal with her when you go in to ask any simple questions she would be required to answer. Also, get your books online, they follow you around the book store insisting they help you while following you around making you feel like you are going to steal something.
