Is there an option to give a thousand stars??!! This restaurant is amazing, we had a friend’s birthday party there, the staff is just amazing, kind and helpful!! Good communication, and they were checking our table at all times!! The food is yummy very generous quantities not expensive at all!! I strongly recommend it!! Go and enjoy Iraqi food you won’t be disappointed!! I added few photos but there was more food on the table!

Absolutely fantastic experience. We came to try some authentic Iraqi food and we were not left disappointed. We first were greeted withSmiles from both the owner and servers. we were started with a sheesha that was very well made it didn’t burn quick at all like otherplaces I’ve been to. We were treated with the Ishtar kabob which is like sort of their sampler platter, with one skewer of each of their kabobs. We also tried the Iraqi kouzie which was slow cooked so it was super tender and juicy. After all this the owner showed us amazing hospitality as he gave us some sweets and tea on the house to wrap up our amazing experience while we took in the beautiful art work on the wall

Great food, great time with friends. we order bbq platers and some of the small dishes.The restaurant is a bit noisy ( 2 TV different shows and extra music )But that’s their culture, I guess. You Need a big voice!

I recently dined at Ishtar restaurant and was blown away by the exceptional food and hookah experience. From start to finish, the meal was fantastic - each dish was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The hookah was also a standout, with a great selection of flavors to choose from.What really stood out to me, though, was the owner's respectful and attentive service. He went out of his way to make sure our dining experience was enjoyable, and was happy to answer any questions we had about the menu.Overall, I can't recommend Ishtar restaurant enough. If you're looking for a top-notch dining experience with amazing food and a great hookah selection, this is the place to go. The owner's respectful and welcoming demeanor only adds to the already exceptional experience. Five stars all around!

Honestly where do I start, this place is fantastic. The owner bashar is one of nicest and most caring owner you’ll ever meet. The hospitality we received here was unlike any other. Continuously came to check if we needed anything and to make sure we were enjoying everything. Food was amazing felt super authentic for Iraqi cuisine. Sheesha was also A1, they have so many flavours you can choose from. I also liked the fact that they have your own choice of charcoal instead of just being handed one. I will Recommend this restaurant to all of my cousins and friends

Visited Ishtar a few weeks ago with a few friends and was extremely happy with not only how amazing the food and the quantity was but how nice all staff were. We enjoyed a variety of different dishes with some shisha and the owner and his wife I believe, were even kind enough to offer us complimentary tea and snacks! Amazing restaurant with good vibes, would definitely recommend visiting and we will have to come back again! Thank you for the great experience.

Hookah bar with some Iraqi food on the menu. We were visiting Calgary and found this place through a Google search. We thought it is a restaurant, but turned out to be more of a hookah lounge. Nevertheless, we were able to find delicious Iraqi food. We ordered Quozi and Kebab. We asked for extra hummus and the owner served us an extra hummus plate for no extra charge. That was nice of him. In terms of prices, a bit overpriced.

We had the Kibbe fried (burgal stuffed with beef and then deep fried, served with pomegranate molasses) the Iraqi Kebab, and the Iraqi Kouzie (lamb shank on rice w pickled veggies and an AMAZING garlic sauce. The Laziza is a malted barley non alcohol raspberry flavored beer type drink. It was outstanding!!! The salad w the Kebab was so fresh and sweet. Flavors times 1000. Delicious!!!

Definitely one of my go to places for Mediterranean cuisine!Every time me and my friends eat there, food is always tasty and fresh, love the ambiance too! Highly recommended! Great experience overall.
