Avec Plaisir Fine Lingerie & Swimwear

I've bought a number of items here over the last 15 or so years and they really do stand up after repeated washings. I've donated well worn bras that look as good as they did when I first bought them. One good bra that lasts forever is better than buying a new one twice a year because the wire pops out!The criticism about the customer service is not completely off the mark, you just have to be prepared and realize it's in your own best interest. I used to find it off-putting that they guarded the drawers so carefully and didn't allow me to look myself but once I peeped in myself it was just frustrating to see bras I liked that were not in my size. So the ladies just protect you from the frustration of seeing things that you can't buy!

Good inventory, but you have to be pushy and essentially demand your bra size if you know it and the brand you want. I called to ask about a specific bra I wear and wanted to know if it was on their stocklist. It was, so when I showed up to ask about trying it and what colors they gave I was asked if I knew how much it cost before letting me try it on! Must have been looking poor in my jeans in t-shirt that day... Lol. They also refused to believe I was a 30-D and were only bringing me 32 band sizes ... Which I had to refuse to try in order for them to open the drawer and bring the size I had actually asked for. The customer service in this store gives me anxiety.

I have been a client of Avec Plaisir for many years. I called the boutique knowing that even during the recent restrictions for in-person shopping, they would be able to provide the personalized service I have come to know. As with my past experiences at Avec Plaisir, they efficiently found what I needed and as always, are very helpful in suggesting items that are both beautiful and fit me perfectly. I am always impressed by their knowledge and confidently return knowing that the pieces I purchase here are of impeccable quality, beautiful and timeless.

Staff members are not all well trained with a proper understanding of bra fitting. I repeatedly asked the staff member for a bra in a smaller band size and larger cup (an equivalent size) since the one I had tried on was too big around the band. She was adamant that it would not fit and brought me instead a band size and cup size smaller after repeating what I asked for. Staff members show few options and attempt to lead your decision or pressure you into buying what they believe looks good, not based on fit. Would instead recommend several other bra fitters in Toronto, definitely not worth extra costs.

The shop has a beautiful selection of lingerie and other goods, but while the store was wonderfully laid with great stock, the customer service was lacking. As another reviewer noted, the staff here seem to be very misguided with regards to bra sizing. I am a small woman who has had to wear improperly fitted bras in the past because I did not even realize that there are band sizes smaller than a 32 in existence. I can make a 32B work, but I really need a 30C. 9/10 bra boutiques I go into recognize that a 32B is just not a supportive or very flattering size on me, though this can also depend on the brand. Anyways, the owner (I assume) of the shop took one look at me while I was wearing a coat and said that there was no way I am a 30C. I was a bit taken aback hearing this because she had not even properly measured me nor seen me out of my coat! In fact I was wearing a 30C bra that day that fits me like a glove and gives me just the right support and cleavage. A 32 band size does not support me as well as a 30, and experienced bra fitters should know that the majority of a bra's support system should come from the band, not the straps. I was also afraid to ask to see other stock because I was made to feel that I could not afford much of it. I wanted to browse around the shop more for bras in my size but after that encounter I quickly paid for the underwear that I went in for originally and left.

I have shopped at Avec Plaisir for many, many years and have never been disappointed. Vasilia always knows my size, and selects styles that are best suited for my body shape. She has an amazing selection, so I'm always sure to find something. Everyone is always so helpful and the store is stunning and inviting. My daughter has become a new customer and is in love with everything Avec Plaisir!

My mom has been shopping at this store for over 15 years. She brought me in for a fitting and the ladies made me feel very comfortable. They really knew how to find the perfect items for my style and my age.We were pleased that they did not waste time in fitting me properly.Definitely they were experts at what they do.Angie

This store seems lovely, but the sales associate was just so pushy and demanding. I didn’t even have the opportunity to look through what they have. She was an older lady and treated me like I had two braincells. It was honestly an awful experience. No one wants to be bombarded when shopping for something as intimate as lingerie!!

Shopping for bras and underwear and buying lingerie is a seriously personal experience but thankfully the staff at Avec Plaisir always make me feel incredibly comfortable. I have been shopping in this boutique for many years, I have always received exceptional service and the quality of the products cannot be matched. I appreciate the knowledge and advice the staff have to share. They are always willing to go above and beyond to help you find what you're looking for – the attention to your needs is unparalleled.I truly can’t imagine shopping anywhere else.
