Talking about the cafe and not the hotel. The waitress was extremely rude and unprofessional. Yelling, rolling her eyes, and everything. The hotel on the other hand was fine - only that it was noisy at night because of the music but they give you earplugs so it’s alright. The thing that mostly brought the experience down was the service given to us at the cafe.

Terrible service from this hotel. Who runs two booking systems at the same time and then has the right to act astonished that this results in a poor customer service experience? Attempts to contact the manager since November of last year have proven unfruitful.

Staying for 5 nights, we booked the Premier Quadruple Room for 2 people. The design was definitely made to accompany a family with two children, even though cupboard space in the bathroom was found to be lacking. The room was beautiful and we enjoyed this part very much, but sadly we cannot give our total experience more than 2 stars. The reason behind this is false advertisement regarding the amount of sound you will hear whilst staying in this accommodation on the weekend. The noise and the vibration coming from the bar bellow you is just too much to be able to look past. This goes on till 2.00 a.m. in the morning and if you decided to wake up early and take in the beautiful surroundings, you are truly mistaken. Even though the staff was generally very nice and kind, we find it to be unacceptable how this situation was handled. Why should the price be the same on the weekend, if you cannot guarantee the same quality of rest in comparison to the week? We don't appreciate snide remarks when complaining and feel that this could have been handled better.

It is a wonderful hotel in the midst of a vibrant fishing and touristy area. Just be aware that there is no elevator or stairlift for the handicapped. The cafe serves a great breakfast.

Not the Ritz, but not Skid Row either. Room was super clean, decor is modern and stylish, bed was comfy, and there were a few personal touches that show housekeeping cares.Reception was super friendly even though we checked in late. Thanks Steveston for being understanding. When reception says the pub downstairs is noisy until 2am, they mean it. We were told ahead of time - no complaints from this heavy sleeper.Ear plugs are a nice touch for those who are light sleepers.

This is a review of the Cafe and not the hotel. Great classic diner menu for breakfast and brunch! Really fresh and tasty food with very generous portions. The Yukon gold hash browns upgrade is totally worth it! Great coffee! Absolutely top notch service, every single time. There are not many restaurants with this classic combination of location, great diner food and wonderful service. I go as often as possible because I know that this style of classic North American eatery won’t be around forever. They usually close before 1pm and don’t really accommodate lunch, so best to early, before 11:00 to be safe…But, right next door is the Buck & Ear Pub that opens at noon and is meant for lunch and dinner, and their classic pub food and great service and ambiance is also top notch! This whole building should be a heritage site. It’s a gem. Lots of pay parking in back and they validate. It’s an awesome experience every time and brings back lots of memories.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location is perfect for wandering around the park, docks, and visiting the MANY amazing restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and dessert shops. It's also a very short trip to/from the Vancouver airport.Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a little outdated, but very comfortable. Some amenities could be clarified as there was some confusion as well.Overall, I was very happy with my stay and will almost certainly stay at this location again. Everytime I visit the area it feels like a relaxing vacation as I wander around sampling the many vendors.

*Review of the Diner*We came here twice for brunch during our recent visit to Steveston. The food was done well and portion sizes were generous! Loved their hollandaise sauce and the hash brown potatoes were extra crispy. Get there early to beat the rush as the diner fills up quick!

We really loved this hotel. Recently stayed for four nights. Very cute old school style hotel above the cafe and pub. It is a one flight walkup, no elevator (this is clearly stated on their page). Booked the 'Superior Queen Room (newly renovated)', which was very nice, but a little small, especially the bathroom. Not sure the bed is actually a queen bed. Location can't be beat, walking distance to everything in town, grocery store across the street, liquor store in the building. Steveston in general is a great central location to stay with easy access to many spots in the greater Vancouver area you may be visiting on vacation. We found it generally quiet, but I'm sure it's a little noisier in the summer, especially with the bar right downstairs. Pros: Location, free parking, cleanliness, newly updated room, friendly and efficient customer service, comfortable bed. Cons: Water pressure in the shower, room could use a small fridge and an electrical outlet in the bathroom, no storage in the bathroom.Would definitely recommend, and will book again. Thank you so much!
