There are CPA professionals and then there is Celia Meikle.I have had the good fortune of working with Celia in a professional capacity when we both volunteered on a non-profit board.I’ve found Celia to be incredibly knowledgeable, extremely professional and highly efficient.She undertook her volunteer role with the utmost integrity, care and diligence.It’s one thing when you are paid to do a job, it’s another when you bring your skills to a volunteer role.Celia treated us as if we were her biggest client. That to me is the mark of a true professional.

In hiring Celia Miekle at GMS accounting I have had the most terrible service and experience. This is a very unprofessional and lazy accountant.I wish I had paid more attention to the many nuances of her unprofessionalism that manifested on a reoccurring basis. Upon our first meeting at her own office she was 30 min late. I understand that in Toronto traffic can be bad but this was just the first act of unprofessionalism which outlined what type of behavior was to follow.Everything about Celia was disorganized. She does not perform much of the accountant work as she has assistants doing all of the paper work for her.There were so many problems with this accountant that I have to summarize to spare readers from a lenghty read.They seem to screen many incoming calls at this office. Her assistant Kika had called me to discuss something. I just missed the phone call and called back immediately and asked for her as she just left a message. She told me that she was not there. I explained that I just missed the phone call by seconds and so I called right back. At which point she said yes it was her. They were not screening for my call, maybe yours or someone elses.I had given Celia my tax work with plenty of time to have it completed. It took her about 3 months to do the taxes. I ended up having to pay 2 late fees to the government. One immediately and another showed up a few months later.The tax work that I paid for was incomplete. This led to a review from the CRA. This is the first time I have ever had the CRA review my tax work. When the CRA contacted me about the tax work I asked them to call the accountant as they had done the work and it would be a simple task for them to answer any questions. When I later spoke with the CRA agent he said the accountat told him if he had any questions that he should ask me himself. He was mildly puzzled by this anwer from the accountant. Long story short I had to pay more money to the CRA.I was perplexed as to the behaviors of Celia as an accountat so I googled her name and found more negative reviews about her at Seneca college. Dealing with Celia Miekle has been one of the worst experiences of my life expressly how it affected me financially. To sum up her business etiquette would be generally lazy and aloof. Beware and take heed.
