Calgary & Region Family Day Home Agency

Horrible experience with day-home provider and day home agency. My child attended no more than 3 days at one of their day homes and my child broke out in what appears to be hives or some virus. A day after picking up my child I noticed that he was incoherent and was not able to respond to me like he usually does. I paid full fee and when I asked for my money back hours before they close they told me I have to wait until after the holiday. These people don’t care about your child. They could care less. They will put you on the back burner especially if you choose to discontinue your agreement with them. They never asked me if my child was okay or if they could help. Most parents have no idea what these people are feeding their child. It’s a sad system and sad reality. And a lot is going on that parents don’t know. When I told the care giver to not give my child meat and rice and foods we don’t eat at home they still did it anyway, which lead to sickness and now added problems. They do not care about your requests which are different for different children.I am appalled by the treatment and disregard for a little child who is now suffering. I have no choice but to go to the hospital to figure out if my child is okay.Just be aware of whom you choose to leave your child with.Update: I received only a portion of money back for the days not used. Thanks for returning money. If you choose to use a dayhome from this agency be sure to do lots of research beforehand. Good luck.

My experience with Calgary & Region Family Day Home Agency has been great! I was a Childcare Consultant for years and I was with this agency for a year working with the staff in the office while doing provider visits on a monthly basis. I have re-opened my doors again to children in my home and am running a preschool program now with 3 years of age and up. The staff have been very professional and supportive as I continually tweak the program and provide children and families quality care. The knowledge and experience of the staff in agency continue to provide services and flexible ideas that are always in the framework of the Alberta regulations and Accreditation standards. They use clear communication, experienced in resolution and encourage problem solving, inspire families and educators, and get to know the children registered in all the programs within the agency. As a childcare educator, it is the moments in a day that we remember a kind word, smile or a compassionate nature - Calgary & Region agency takes the time to understand every individual background and goals without taking sides or favouritism. They truly care about children on a deep level and provide all the steps for families and educators to bring out the best sides in all involved.

I am a provider with Calgary & region Family Day home, I feel I am lucky to be a part of this agency. everybody is very helpful, the monthly visits, newsletters, calendars are always useful in program planning. the guidance and training provided by them is very helpful in running a successful day home. parents are very happy with the way of working of the agency. They help in all the ways or any time I want. they are easily approachable and accessible.

I have been a provider with this agency for almost 4 years. I am very blessed to be working with some amazing families and taking care of their precious children! The agency is always there for me when I need support, or if the families need support with something. I have referred providers and families to this agency and they give me nothing but positive feedback and great experiences!

I was busy working, and my daughter was late only 1 day to pick up my son...they immediately eliminate my son care services... and now they reply the reason was i need to update my information... just updated my information, do you need to stop immediately the care service while I'm a single mom with 2 jobs???? I can update my information, but I can't accept the disrespectful no matter what is the reason behind

I am so fortunate to work as an Educator with Calgary and Region Family day homes agency. Their staff is so dedicated, professional, and well-informed. They offer professional development workshops throughout the year and support their educators to grow in their field. They take care of their educator's self-respect and so I feel safe in case an issue arises. Side by side they advise if an educator needs to improve in a problem situation. They deal justly with both parties.They contribute to social services and it feels so good to do something for our community. They appreciate their educator's work and encourage them so they can strive to do better. They play a positive role to satisfy parents and arrange Turkey dinners to make our connection stronger and happier. Lastly, they groom their educators to raise better physically, emotionally and socially well-developed kids. I have been working with them for 10 years and so far I have had a great experience with them professionally and personally.

I have been a Dayhome provider with the agency for 3 years and I have to say that I feel so lucky to be part of this agency. Everyone is helpful and supportive. I also love the monthly in services, I know that whenever I call them they will be answer my call and help me with whatever it is I need help with. The agency sets guidelines for the Dayhome providers to provide the children and families with fun and learning opportunities for the kids during their stay.My consultant is very helpful and approachable. She is knowledgeable in what she does and gets back to me when I have a question for her in a quick time.

I have been working with this day home agency for quite sometime. They are very unprofessional and they lack trust. Every kid I brought they have tried to take and put into “back-up” care with another day home. They have not brought any kid to me and they gave claim I’m far yet the parents say otherwise. They also talk to the parents about moving day home without my permission even though the parent are satisfy with my care. The parents were also unhappy and confused about the role agency played, they have caused a lot of problems.I don’t recommend this agency.
