Blue Grass Nursery, Sod & Garden Centre - Calgary

I purchased 3 mature trees that I also paid to have delivered and planted in 2021 out of the Calgary location, and last summer prior to the 1 year warranty I called in to make the claim as the trees didn't take. I also purchased 2 potted trees (Same trees) a week prior or a week later. During this long drawn out process of getting them replaced I couldn't find the receipt for the 2 potted trees and Scott Stoner the warranty manager was unable to find anything on his end. He also had problems finding the receipt for the mature trees also but did eventually find it, but to only tell me there was nothing he could do for the potted trees I purchased. I can totally understand I should have clearly kept the receipt some where I could recall in the event they didn't take and i needed to replace them which I do. Going forward I will strongly consider other landscaping places to spend my money when being given a response of there is nothing I can do for you is what Scott felt is acceptable. I'm not feeling great that I had no choice but to give you my money a second time for them to deliver and come re plant the trees. If that is the level of customer service you offer to people spending thousands of dollars I would revisit what that looks like. Great job Scott!!

We live in BC and ordered 6 mature evergreens. Big and heavy. 5 to be delivered to one location, and the sixth to a second. The first five were delivered great. Zero issues. A young man and a lovely Mexican coworker ( i wish i had asked for their names). They were beyond awesome, even digging the holes bigger. When the sixth was delivered, the neighbour and his girlfriend came to complain about the truck being near their motorcycle (they're your typical nightmare neighbour) taking pictures and trying to intimidate our young delivery man who was mature, professional, and super capable. The whole incident took about 10 minutes. I'm posting this, in case you see a review bad mouthing this company. They were amazing and we are super pleased with their service and the quality of the product. They went above and beyond, and we will be telling all our landscaping friends about their awesome service.

My wife and I love shopping here as they have a wonderful selection of plants and bushes and trees. They also have many many interesting pieces of furniture and other additions for your garden and decks. We recently picked up a new tree and some wonderful hostas for our backyard. I love the condition of the plants at the store they are well taken care of and usually larger than the other places I’ve been to.We also bought a fountain here and it is a nice addition to our backyard. I’ve also always found the staff quick to help, friendly and knowledgeable. If you haven’t been yet, you should check this place out as it’s only a minute out of Calgary by the Balzac mall.

Extremely disappointed in Blue Grass Nursery! They claim to be a one stop shop for gardening needs" and a premier garden centre. They are disorganized

I bought three plants from Cross Iron Mall location, Apricot, Plum and Apple on April 22, 2022. The apple plant was of $ 109. I just visited Costco on that very day, and bought 3 Apple plans, $ 41 each. Today, on April 23, 22, I went there to return the plant, the cashier told me he can’t return a live plant. I asked him him to call the manager. He called the manager who advised me to contact the customer service, and assured me they would not return it. I went to the customer service, the lady told me the same thing. I gave her 3 propositions, 1- Return it. 2. Let me have another plant instead of it. 3. Match the price. Her reply was in negative. I feel that I am ripped off. The Blue Grass team should have told me prior to my purchase about their return policy; but they didn’t. And told me that their return policy is printed on the receipt. How many of us go through the literature written on the receipts after purchase. I would like to take the matter to next level; May be to the consumer complaint centre. It was happening to me for the first time, the rule of thumb in Canada is either you can return a product or get a credit for it!!!On top of that Apple plant of Blue Grass is withering/dying and Costco’s plant is flourishing. I paid $ 120 for ☝️ plant to bluegrass; and $ 41 to Costco. Will Blue Grass return withered plant or I am ripped off????k

Today I bought sod from the Calgary location. My previous experience with their sod 15 years ago was gorgeous thick green lawn. The sod I got today was half dead, and so thin you couldn’t move it without tearing it… terrible…and zero customer service in their lot. I loaded my sod myself.. so if you a woman of slight build you are in for a work out. Don’t go here there are much better places of quality product and awesome service. I won’t be buying anything from this place again.

I do love the ambiance of this place, but I truly don't understand why they charge three times as much for the same apple tree from the same growers than Canadian Tire charges. Canadian Tire even has a one year guarantee on trees too. I'd love to know what justifies this price hike. The Blue Grass keeps saying that they can't compete with larger companies, but to charge $270 for the same tree (again, same supplier) that's $80 elsewhere... that's extreme.

Avoid the Cross Iron location. We purchased over $4,000 worth of plants through our builder in Aug 2021. The following spring 5 of our shrubs didn't make it and were clearly under warranty. We could barely get a response from Scott Stoner (arborist) who said he would come and view the plants but then went radio silent. It's now June 2023 and we still can't get even a response. Now they are claiming there never was a warranty. Please consider another vendor before visiting this place.

First time going there today to pick up sod. The kind gal I spoke with told me whereto find what I was looking for, how to get it in my car if I needed assistance and was all around just super helpful and nice! Great experience, I'll be back again for sure!

My Nephew and I love Blue Grass and last Tues. the selection was excellent. I found the Banana I have been wanting, played with the adorable black kitty who was very friendly and enjoyed a mini tropical vacation during the visit. The only down side it was -25 with hurricane force winds so going back out to parking lot was brutal. Is there any chance you can open a bed & breakfast on the grounds? Thank you everyone.
