Dr yuan has helped me a lot with chronic pain. I’ve made more improvement under her care for the last 12 months than any other year in 30 years of trying every possible treatment. Highly recommend.

Dr. Yuan’s commitment to patient care is truly extraordinary. Following a serious shoulder injury that required surgical intervention, I was suffering from years of debilitating pain. Dr. Yuan was able to patiently target and significantly reduce my severe chronic pain as well as manage any recurring pain using guided trigger point injections.A chronic ankle injury that had caused me years of discomfort was also resolved following a few months of prolotherapy injections. Her precise and comprehensive care gave me the confidence to improve my flexibility and strength, allowing me to return to my active lifestyle.Getting long-term relief from chronic pain has been transformative. I have referred many friends and colleagues who have all been impressed with Dr. Yuan’s skills and compassion. Her devotion to advancing the clinical treatment of pain is heartening. I am grateful to have found her.

I was born with Hypermobility and a few car accidents that give me constant back pain from C1 to S5! You can imagine how I feel everyday of my life.I consider myself really lucky that I met Dr. Yuen. She is a professional, her accuracy of pinpointing my pain spots is second to none. Beside her talented skill and professionalism, the most important things that I admire her is she really care for her patients, I haven't seen doctors that are really care for their patient, she spends time with me asking questions regarding my pain and how I felt that I feel; she is like a dear friend rather a doctor, she even prescript some medication for my burn when she saw my wound which proves that she will help people whoever need help. Affinity is another factor that she is liked and trusted by many patients and I am one of them.Dr. Yung is also an UBC instructor that teaches other MDs the skill of the TPI, I really hope she will nourish more good doctors like her to help more people. A kudos to her contribution.I highly recommend Dr. Yuen for your chronic pain or injuries, try the TPI and the prolotherapy, you will thank me for that.KMay 2023

I have had excellent results from Dr. Yuan's trigger point injections, I arrived to her after continued worsening of my symptoms despite care from three different highly trained physiotherapists. She has a better understanding of biomechanics than most physiotherapists I have been to, and using ultrasound to guide her injections allows her to do TPI in muscles that physiotherapists will not touch (e.g. iliacus, internal oblique) and ensures that the correct location and depth are reached. I have also been very happy with her recommendations for allied health practitioners - I finally found a fourth physiotherapist who is able to actually help my issue in tandem with Dr. Yuan. As a family physician, I would be ecstatic to send any of my patients to her.

Dr. Yuan has been extremely helpful in treating a variety of injuries for me over the years. Not only has Dr. Yuan yielded great results for me with pain reduction and increased mobility via trigger point injections and prolotherapy but her approach while doing so is top-notch. Her technique and physical touch is so gentle that injections from her are the least painful I've experienced and have minimal bruising and/or bleeding. And almost as importantly, I've found Dr. Yuan to be very kind and compassionate. She never rushes me and I always feel heard and validated in her presence. She has an amazing bedside manner and I truly appreciate all the support I've received.I hope many new doctors will have the opportunity to learn both technical and soft skills from Dr. Yuan. I would recommend her to anyone experiencing acute or chronic pain; particularly folks who may have had negative experiences with the health care system in the past. She is indeed a rare physician.

Was seeing Dr. Yuan through muscleMD and continued treatment when she opened this office. Early on in the appointments it was clear she didn't care about what I was going through, and was the kind of dr that just provides a service. Desperate for help I chose to overlook this because treatment was helping right from the first appointment. I had an extensive injury to my ribs and shoulder with severe pain that left me unable to do even the simplest things like wash my hair or cook a meal, and contemplating suicide on a daily basis. In the beginning having this released was painful. I would tell her about the pain thinking it was best to keep her informed. She told me if I kept having pain she wouldn't continue treating me. I stopped telling her about the pain and only reported the improvements. It wasn't long before she used that against me saying that since I was doing so good I didn't need appointment. I told her that I did, she reluctantly agreed to continue but it would be once a month not once a week. In this time she was also insisting I go to other drs I had already been to and didn't help. I told her several time that I didn't have funds for this due to being disabled and living on a fixed income, thats why I was referred to the pain clinic. This didn't matter to her and she continued to bring it up at every visit. I had to cash out on my rrsp to pay for the drs she insisted I see. Not only did these dr's not help but one chiropractor made things much worse setting my progress back greatly. I told her about this, she shrugged her shoulders and said things happen. After a few more appointments she sent a falls report to my dr saying I wasn't having improvement. untrue! We were having visible muscle release, and improvements every visit. I would have continued improvement over the next few days as things readjusted. also regained a lot of my range of motion, use of my arm, and sensation around the injured area with the treatments. I had expressed these improvements to her, she acknowledged them even using them as her reason to not provide so many treatments. Her saying I'm having no progress was a lie. This was her way of dismissing me so she didn't have to provide treatment. After her report I had an appointment with my dr. He looked at the injury, said that there was still a need for treatment and he was keeping the referral open. He also suggested that I try seeing the other dr that worked at the office since this is how I was being treated. the next visit I tried to speak to her about the report she sent my dr but it was to no avail even with my dr advising her I needed treatment. She again said there was no progress happening, but at the same time agreed to do treatment that day. I agreed as I was at the office and traveled 45 minutes. again experienced lots of muscle release each time she inserted the needle. It was visible with large muscle twitches. I tried to talk to her about continuing treatment she said she wouldn't continue because I was having no progress. again, completely untrue! we had just had lots of release with the treatment she provided 2 minutes earlier. I pointed this out to her she completely dismissed what I was saying and shrugged me off. At the advice of my dr I tried to make the appointment with the other dr. Dr. yuan told the receptionist not to schedule me in, that I needed no further appointments. Wish I could say that all this was all that happened. I was often dismissed, even laughed at a few times, and she trash talked other drs. If the treatments weren't helping like she claims, I wouldn't of subjected myself to that. I continued because it was the only thing helping and I've been in pain for years. After going through her reviews online I realized I'm not the only one that has experienced this with her. The entire time I was being treated she was trying to find any reason not to treat me. If she likes you she might help you for years as some patients have reported, and if she doesn't she will find a way not to, even if that means lying about your progress.
