I had a blast and an amazing experience in my coaching sessions. The coaching was tailored to your individual needs and the goals of the rider, so whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider looking to improve your skills, you can expect to receive great coaching that will help you achieve your goals.Cole was super friendly, experienced, knowledgeable, and passionate about mountain biking. He broke down complex skills and techniques into simple, easy-to-understand steps, making it easier for me to learn and improve. Cole provide detailed feedback and guidance throughout the coaching process, which helped me to develop good habits and correct any bad ones.I highly recommend RADCO to anyone looking to improve their riding. The personalized coaching, expert guidance, and great coaches make RADCO an outstanding choice for anyone looking to take their riding to the next level.

I’ve been riding/racing mountain bikes for 15+ years, but had zero technical training or coaching and developed plenty of bad habits. Training with Derek in Durham Forest, Dagmar and Joyride150 Indoor Bike Park has significantly improved my mountain biking technical skills and increased my confidence. I’ve seen huge improvement in my cornering, line choice, climbing, drops and step ups over obstacles. I’m riding trails and obstacles I previously would have avoided. Derek provides a safe and confident environment for learning new skills and improving existing ones. Furthermore, his use of Joyride150 indoor bike park provides an excellent training location for certain skills such as bike pumping that can be difficult to master on forest trails.

Professional and patient. Derek was able to break down skills at my pace, and teach in a way that made me feel comfortable, and able to progress safely. He was able to get my old, XC racer wheels off of the ground!

Got bitten by the Mountain Biking bug this summer after my son got into the sport and I knew I could benefit from lessons. I connected with Derek and was immediately impressed with his mindset and approach. He is a stellar instructor who will make you a better rider and love the sport even more.I was lucky to not have any bad habits to break and between Derek's easy going teaching style coupled with progressive lessons it all started to click! My only regret is that I started lessons in September and finished as the last leaves were falling so now I need to hit the indoor parks to stay fresh until spring.Derek gladly answered all my questions related to not only riding but bike maintenance and the industry as well. I took his advice about indoor riding at JoyRide 150 and he even went out of his way to show me and my son around the place on our first visit. If I choose to move further in my skills it will most certainly be with RADCO and Derek.

Brick by brick, Meticulous, and Patient are a few of the terms that immediately come to mind when thinking back to my 1-on-1 coaching session with RADCO.To preface, my interest in Mountain biking just began 9 months ago, when I bought my first MTB and have no applicable experience such as Road Cycling, Motocross, Skiing or BMX. While I did complete a different 6-week group course to get a taste of the hobby, I feel that a 1-on-1 session was needed in order for me to really hone in and make strides. The RADCO 2-hour session begins with a brief Q&A to compile a list of focal points before the scheduled meet-up. Each skill that is worked on is broken down into easier, more comprehensible mini-skills that I would've never even thought of or associated with the end goal, and Derek ensures that you fully understand and are comfortable with each one, before moving forward.I would describe the process as something like the following....1. A clear explanation of each task...followed by your confirmed understanding /2. A visual demonstration, combined with a verbal explanation while being executed...followed by your confirmed understanding /3. The riders turn to execute; while being coached from the sideline /4. A discussion of any tweaks that need to be done if need be, with a video walkthrough of what you just did. ...because, you know, it always looks great in your head, until you see the video replay. /5. Rinse and repeat until you really begin to grasp the process. / 6. On to the next skill.By the end of the session, I was able to do certain skills safely, with more accuracy, and confidence, and now when I go out on my own and something is off, I will know how to pinpoint the issue and fix it.Derek is very approachable which is great for an introvert such as me because at no point did I ever feel uneasy about asking questions or engaging in conversation.Coming from a place just 9 months ago, when I thought a Mountain bike was just a style or look, to now understanding that there are definitely certain demands and skills required, I highly recommend RADCO to gain the knowledge that will help you to be confident and safe on your adventures...or should I say 'burn your matches wisely'.

I had a lesson with Derek last year to help me with jumping. (Mainly so I don't embarrass my kids when I am riding with them.) He had an excellent system of drills that broke down jumping technique into managable chunks, allowing me to get comfortable with one aspect at a time. By the end of the session I felt much more balanced and controlled in the air. That allowed me to get a little higher, and feel less fatigued. Will definately be taking a few more lessons!

Recently completed INDOOR SKILLS lessons with RADCO; and I plan to continue taking lessons...highly recommend. Coaches (Cole and Derek) are great to work with. They are friendly, knowledgeable and really helped me to improve both my fundamentals, as well as simplify some advanced skills that I had previously found challenging. Recommend to anyone looking to improve their skills, learn new skills, and maximize their fun on the bike!
