Excellent place to live for students with families.Very reasonable rent and professional staff. One Parking spot is provided to each unit. 1 & 2 bedroom apartments are given based on the needs but waiting time is very long. So, apply in advance.

I lived in 10 different buildings since I moved in Halifax, so far this is the best :) Nice staff, friendly people. I love the playground for children.

I do not recommend Peter Green Hall at all.I lived in Peter Green Hall for 2 years and overall I haven’t had a good experience.Building is very old (like 60 years or so) and is not in a good condition. It needs serious upgrades in all ways that you can think of. Units floors condition is very bad. They are sticky and can’t ever be cleaned. There is hair and dust trapped under the wax that they apply on the flooring which is very unprofessional. Kitchen appliances are very old. For some reason, the water quality is poor. Water has colour and smell time to time. Also, chances are high that you don’t have hot water to take a warm shower whenever you want. There is a big pest challenge there too. You need to seal all around the unit to get rid of the small tiny cockroaches. Building also has mice issues in some units. Laundry Machine and Dryer can surprise you sometimes and there is 1 set of laundry machine and dryer for every 16 units! Although the building is smoke-free but you may smell smoke sometimes. They didn’t paint the unit when gave it to us and walls were not in a good condition. But when doing the inspection they try to convince you that everything is perfect for 900$ rent which I found very insulting because it is no one’s business how much students pay for rent and no matter what, everyone must do their jobs. Den’s floor was cementitious and they refused to floor it with proper material. They also degrade the units. For example, they break and throw out some sliding closet doors or they throw out the small foldable table that units used to have. I mean instead of upgrading, sometime they degrade too! Noise is a big issue in this building. If you live in the 1st floor, there will be an after-school unit right at the same floor as you are maybe right next to your door. Daycare is very noisy and the noise comes all the way up to all units from outside. You sometimes need to wait for 20 minutes to get into an elevator. Building is very weak in noise insulation and you can easily hear your neighbours conversations and everything. Most of the times when I asked them to fix something, the said “We are nonprofit” like it fixes the issues. Parking gets humid and lakes appear in there during heavy snowfall and rainfall. Storage room units are very small and don’t have privacy because storage rooms are divided by metal fences instead of wood, block, or sandwich panel. While they didn’t do any move-in inspection for us and just forced us to sign the inspection papers, they did a very detailed move-out inspection and they were trying to make us responsible for damages that we didn’t do to the unit and were already there when we moved-in but we stood up against this unfair act but still lost a lot of money because of this unfair cruelty. Pictures that you see on their website is for show and the units are usually not anything close to those picture in terms of beauty and condition. Staff are friendly as long as you don’t say anything but “Thank you” and “You Are Right”. They can be really rude and they can be really impolite and unreasonable. They also didn’t answer some of my emails during my stay there. And when you want to escalate an issue to a higher ranked person in the society, all paths are closed for you to contact them directly. It means you basically can’t find the people who supervise the staff. Basically you can’t contact Dalhousie University to investigate issues and find a solution for them.I honestly do not recommend this building. The rent is good and that is a fact but the service you receive is not good.
