Caveat Emptor - 2002 I lease-bought a $ 4000 computer from ICTECH who told me the lease would add about 30 percent to the final cost. Final lease cost was over $ 8000. The computer had to be compatible with (Montreal) Matrox's brand new RTX100 A/V capture product. I 'invested' every penny I could muster into this system. I went into debt. But from my already pre-existing list of several hundred customers waiting for me to begin digitizing their A/V, I calculated that I could pay that off in about 6 months, and be rolling in dough by the end of the 1st year. I chose ICTECH to build a compatible computer for me fast instead of trying to do it myself because Matrox listed ICTECH as their very best recommended source to get a compatible computer for their RTX100. The computer that ICTECH built for me never worked as it was supposed to for the next three years. Despite numerous trips to the shop. Indeed, the computer got worse, not better, after each visit. 3 of the replacement DVD burners burned out quickly. Work projects took at best 2 to 5 times longer to complete because of that computer. Downtime lost to shop visits were devastating. I lost a lot of customers and money because of all the problems. ICETCH password protected the motherboard so I could not access it. ICTECH told me that if I took the computer to somebody else, or, broke the Warranty strip myself to open and try to fix it myself, that would void my Warranty completely, and, the Lease company would demand full balance owing payment all at once. I stupidly believed that I was stuck with ICTECH 'Support/Warranty', and I spiraled further and further into debt. After several years of my attempts to escalate my complaints, finally via Matrox, the ICTECH founder claimed all the problems were being caused by me, by improper use, not knowing what I was doing, not the computer they 'built' for me. The Lease cost of the computer was over $ 8,000 to finish paying for it. A lawyer told me it would cost me at least ten times more than the lease to try to take ICTECH to court, and I would lose because ICTECH could afford to beat me. I waited till I had paid off the lease before trying to find somebody else to help me. I immediately consulted a Microsft Agent in India who very quickly figured out the problem was a simple IRQ conflict. Problem solved finally. I felt very stupid not finding that myself. But ICTECH never found it either. Still, I was stupider than ICTECH, for having gone to them in the first place, and not seeking Microsoft help right away. Several months after I had paid off the lease and gotten the IRQ conflict problem solved, the computer fried itself. I built a replacement computer for a fraction of the lease cost, but it was too late. I was so far in debt by then I never was able to recover from that. By 2006 I had wound up $ 64,000 in debt because of ICTECH. I had to declare personal bankruptcy. In 2008 I just so happened by freak accident to meet a former employee of Matrox, and I told him my story. He told me he knew my story very well, he was involved" with it at the time. In fact
