Brown - Lowery Provincial Park
Small beautiful natural park close (35 minutes of driving) to the south of Calgary. However kind of difficult to find at first. Few marked trails through wild forest. You can climb a small hill ridge and from there is magnificent view of foothills and Rockies on the horizon or on the opposite side city downtown buildings. Very small parking lot for only handful of cars. Public restrooms available on the parking lot.

Beautiful, lush provincial park. Many hiking trails some leading to a breathtaking view of the foothills and Rocky Mountains to the west. June wildflowers were plentiful along with mosquitoes. Make sure to bring bug spray

Great place to take an easy, long walk in the forest - the view from the viewpoint is amazing, also you can see Calgary downtown in the distance from the top of the ridge. Spent a few fun hours there with the family. The pathways are easy to navigate with well marked maps at the junctions.

This is a gem of a place not very far from the city. At the highest place, one can see mountains and the city. Trails are well maintained. The parking lots isn't very big and the federal police is always there ticketing Albertans who aren't parked on the side of the road so be warned about that.

Couldn't honestly recall where it went down. Loosely in this area by about 50KM2 however it could be beyond this distance. Just west of the city and driving up this slope upward to the right at quite one steep solid 60° incline. Stop once reaching the top, then decide to begin scoping out the area. Not sure how this could be decided season of the year to do this, but it's difficult to criticize the unknown adventure. We don't have a clue about where and who else could inhabit this place. Started to snow in the second half of the scout, then all of sudden there is gunfire. We just left, weren't about to find out the concequence of doing absolutely nothing wrong in this remote environment which otherwise would appear innocent. Never associated with those people who brought us here after then. Definitely not worth the trouble, didn't think twice. Didn't even know where we were half of the road trip, could have ended up in the dirt somewhere. Or worse, in a box.

Great place to hike with the kids, both in the winter and the summer. Amazing views from the lookout and lush forest throughout.

Fantastic. Trail maintenance crew is doing a great job. We had a fresh snow so trails were slippery in places but that should be expected.

We hiked here with the kids (aged 5-10) and climbed to the lookout. Then we looped back down following the tiny stream. Although there was some whining on the way up, we picnicked at the top and everyone was in much better moods for the way down. There are lots of well marked trails and we could have extended the hike (maybe without kids!). It's very beautiful. Outhouses at the parking lot. Bring bug spray and water! Would make a great trail run! Not stroller or wagon friendly due to all the tree roots.

Great location close to the city, with several cross-crossing trails. Nice for a quick hike, pretty scenery. Similar to Fullerton Loop, one decent hill to the viewpoint.
