Chumleighs

Staff was very unhelpful when I came in to purchase a pokemon game and trade in some games. Used to like Chumleighs but unfortunately not interested in returning again.

I can't say enough how much I love this store. Ever since it opened in its first downtown location many years ago, I've always loved going in there to browse and purchase items. Lots of great selections of music, movies, and video games. Their's certainly a lot of hidden gems in there you'll find from time to time. Staffs are really friendly and the owner is really nice and great to talk to.So happy that this store is still around. But I do miss its downtown location though. At least this one is closer to where I live.

Not sure which part of my inquiry I enjoyed more…..The part where the person that answered the phone sounded very annoyed that I was even calling, or the part where they cut me off midsentence with….”just two seconds” and disappeared for 6 minutes before I decided to inquire at another location, but not before leaving this post. My family and I have been lifelong customers of Chumleighs all the way from Peterborough to here. But that old school Cheery Chumleighs feeling was severely lacking today, or completely nonexistent. If it is blatantly obvious to even a guaranteed customer, that an employee does not want to be there, or are bothered/burdened to actually happily assist a potential customer. Than how does management not see this? Or was that management? I’m very saddened to say that it may be a very long time before I call this particular store again. I hope my next experience is sincere and not just for a better review. Actually address this issue please, it would be disappointing to call again and have the same experience. As a business, when your phones stop ringing, that is potential revenue not calling. Do better.

They certainly have a lot of inventory, and at excellent prices! If your tastes are mainstream, and you know the titles you're looking for (because of a dearth of categorization), this is the place for you.If you're looking for more unusual fare (eg: foreign, classic, opera, etc.) best to look elsewhere.

We usually go there to shop for Xbox one games, there's plenty of variety and they background music is awesome hehe. The staff is nice and friendly

Staff are usually nice here. Big selection, very clean, and organized store. Some items are overpriced, but you can find some gems here. Like to come here for CDs, and DS games. Something that surprised me was that they sell Skylanders, something I haven't seen anywhere in awhile. Nice place.

Prices are a bit high, particularly on the 4k discs, but I love that we have a store like this!

Great team, new location has lots of parking. Went in w some gift certificates from 2 years ago and they were happy to honor them. Will always recommend!

Great staff always willing to help, however their selection lacks in the game department as they have a fair ammount of shovelware games. Though just this store specifically. The chain is amazing, and they have a WIDE selection of movies. 3.5

Been to a few Chumleighs and it’s usually the same. They have a good selection and for games they are usually right on to what the market expects. A rare 10 year old 360 game thats $30 on Amazon is $30 here. Game prices are fine.CD prices can be surprising. Some Singles are $7 and some albums can be $4. You aren’t going to get the same price as a thrift store but the CD’s here are very clean and the discs are like new - the whole CD is like new. That’s the difference maker. I’m not out to buy that many CD’s so spending $12 on 2 CD’s every so often is fine.The staff are always very friendly and it’s never that busy. It’s just a shame that nearly every other location in Kingston has closed during the Covid era.
