The museum is rich in history and information. The most visited areas are those that tell the story of the Titanic and the explosion. But the whole museum is very interesting, and the miniatures are very detailed and beautiful.

There are 2 floors to the museum. When you enter, there's a information display to your left that talks about the history of the building that houses the museum. In front of you is where you pay for your admission. Adult admission is $9.55.The day we went, they were showing a special short 11 min film about the Titanic: The Halifax Story between 11 am to 12 pm on the second floor in their mini theatre. There's another movie that plays. About the Bluenose. Another movie called Sable Island plays, 28 min. They seem to show different movies, with different times. I caught the tail end of the Bluenose movie. The last movie today is Sable Island. The museum workers show movies on days that are particularly busy, to thin out the crowds in the exhibits. The walking onto the deck of the CSS Acadia wasn't open, cause of the rainy weather. On the ground floor, there's a person working on assembling model ships. There are lots of model ships. There is history here about the Halifax Explosion. There is a Indigenous exhibit. They have a parrot in a cage here named Merlin. The second floor has history about the Titanic and Nova Scotia shipwrecks. Artefacts of the Titanic can be found in the displays. And a lot of model ships. There's an area about sailing as well.bthe floorboards creak very loudly- I assume to mimic the creaky floorboards of an actual ship. The day we went, it got pretty busy as time passed. We spent about 5 hours here. Surprisingly a good museum. Was much more than we expected.

We spent a morning here exploring the exhibits. We enjoyed the section on the Titanic especially since we had seen the graves of the Titanic passengers the day before. The chandlery was open while we were there and the man at the exhibit was informative and pleasant. I totally enjoyed the time we spent here

Very informative museum with great collection of ship models. The exhibit on the Titanic disaster is of course very popular but we found the exhibit on the Narrows explosion even more fascinating. Inexpensive ticket. Even gave a discount for US AAA

This was a beautiful museum. I would go back in a heartbeat and the only reason I gave it 4 stars was because it's a lot of information and could use more adult style interactive displays. I was really impressed with their Titanic display! Definitely worth checking out when you're in Halifax!

Total enjoyed the Maritime Museum! So much history, it was busy, the items are so interesting. Would love to return. The Titanic section was so interesting as was the Halifax explosion.

Definitely one of the coolest museums I've been to. I've never been to a maritime museum, but have always wanted to go. Interesting even for the kids. So much information on boats, shipwrecks, the Halifax disaster, and the Titanic. Many artifacts from the Titanic at this location. Really enjoyed the room with all of the sailboats. There is a ship outside that you can tour as well, however it was closed when we wanted to tour it. Two floors of information. You could spend at least 4+ hours here. We spent about 2 hours and definitely did not get through it all. Lots to learn about!

The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic is a must see in Halifax. You can learn about boat and canoe design, engine development and Maritime lighting. Then you can learn about the shipwrecks around Nova Scotia as well as the Titanic disaster and other famous wrecks and salvage operations.

An awesome little Museum in downtown Halifax on the water front. This Museum has all sorts of cool stuff from the Halifax Explosion to the sinking of the titanic. As a local, it's always fun to pop in and visit. The prices are extremely low, which is fantastic. It's definitely a fun little activity!
