If I could leave zero star I would. Dreadful!! I legitimately wonder how places like this stay in business with today’s options? I purchased handles, they arrived and were not as expected. I went to return the items and they charge a hefty “restocking fee” which in my case would have been in the tune of over $100 for unwrapped items to go back in their inventory. This company should have altered policies in this regard. Extremely overly priced and rude, awful customer service. You never know until you get something in your home if it will work. My advice, go else where if you’re going through a Reno and need to make decisions. This company DOES NOT CARE, take your business elsewhere.

Horrible customer service experience. Would love to give 0 stars. Whoever they have hired to answer their main phone line is horrendous. I could tell the moment I called I was inconveniencing her with my questions. Coming from someone who knows nothing about their items I was just asking questions to see how things work with them. She was quick to interrupt me, not let me finish asking my question before giving me a wrong answer and her tone was so unprofessional. Managers should re-evaluate who they have working as a first contact for this company.

Seriously lacking in customer service.Unfortunately my first experience was not necessarily the best. Started with me requesting a product and the gentleman proceeding to ask me if I had the part number, even though he new of the product I was referring to. When I responded with no he asked me to go get it on their website. Send him an email when I have all the product numbers.This seemed really quite weird to me, but I put it off to the person must be really busy. When I proceed to make my inquiry via email I then had to send multiple emails just to be able to find out the price and availability of the product. Just to find out, several emails later that it wasn't in for another 2 weeks. When sent email requesting if the product could be picked up in store (email quote provided only included shipping option).Then recieved a follow-up saying it's not available on Calgary by end of the month, it will be in Montreal.I still haven't been able to find out if I can pickup in store.Needles to say took my painting supply needs elsewhere.

I recently designed my new kitchen and was so excited to finalize details with hardware. I drove a ways to Richelieu, as I was familiar with their product. I was not greeted upon entry, which was fine, but it seemed weird no one wanted to help. Once I had picked out my handles, I had approached an older man behind the desk named John, and simply asked him if one of the pulls came in a different finish. He literally told me to drive home, look online and come back when I saw the different finish options. I came to the showroom to see the product in person, where I assumed they would have a staff member able to show me options.He then continued to be extremely “bothered” by more simple questions I had, so I asked him if I was annoying him. He laughed at me and finally got up from behind his desk to view the handles I had picked out. I then told him he was being extremely rude and condescending how he was treating me, which made him more flustered. I don’t know if he is extremely misogynistic, as I am a young female, or what his problem was. I felt extremely uncomfortable, undervalued and by reading the other reviews, it’s very clear others have had this same encounter.I had then asked for his business card (which I clarified with him it was his name). Which turns out, he had given me his coworkers card sitting beside him with a different name than his. As I was waiting, I overheard another employee yelling at a customer on the phone, and the entire place just felt so hostile. Once he returned with my supplies he printed me an invoice, turned away and didn’t ask me to pay, or follow through with anything. I had to ask him if he even wanted me to pay. Which he replied he just assumed I was putting it onto an account. Which is also so unprofessional.This was by far the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I wish I didn’t have to write a poor review, but if he treats others like this, he and this company should be aware.

I purchased 2 replacement hinges for our custom made kitchen cabinet. I brought the original hinge in for size. The guy at the desk came back with 2 hinges that he thought might work" but they weren't the same size. Well

We've had good experiences and bad experiences.Richelieu operates based on a sales rep model, if you go through the sales rep things often get taken care of. If you come in person, you roll the dice, especially with COVID 19 in which they closed their showroom and wanted everything over the phone. Such a system doesn't really work well with the abstract, only if you already know exactly the item you want.Our orders have multiple times been delayed, or split up, or otherwise disorganized to keep track of. Many of the orders get piece milled as they ship it so when they come in its a big headache to figure out which job it is for and if it is all there.They do have a good selection.

I bought a set of cabinet handles/knobs and then stopped by at The Home Depot store to buy some tools. I noticed that The Home Depot had the same items I bought from Richelieu-Calgary half the price I paid. I called them and I was told The Home Depot is one on their clients and can sell their items at any price. Surprisingly, they said there was no return or exchange policy. They claimed that the front desk had already told me which was a lie. They never mentioned any thing about return policy. I was only told that the sale was Curtsy because I am not a contractor registered in their system. I told them Curtsy" doesn't mean "No Return" in Oxford dictionary but they hung up the call. Very rude. Don't go there! Bunch of retarded and arrogant people at front desk!!"

A total waste of time going here today.Nowhere on their Website or Google Maps does it say that the order desk and showroom are closed. I drove all the way here to take a look at several items. Upon arriving, I found taped signs on their doors stating that the showroom is closed and to go around to the back of the building. I drove around to the back of the building to take a look at the items I wanted and to order them. The person there said to call and place your order. Didn't have my phone with me, so I got to drive all the way back home.Whomever came up with their COVID plan did a pathetic follow through to get the information out to their customers.After reading all of the reviews, it seems that this is a common problem with this company. Ineptitude and incompetence seems to run rampant in all departments.In businesses, this typically stems from poor management. With daft leaders, the entire company suffers. And unfortunately until these detrimental people are fired, this company will not get any better. In fact, it will continue to get worse.Thankfully I didn't spend a penny here, and now armed with knowledge, I won't ever. They run their business like Canadian Tire; no refunds or exchanges. Another store I never shop at.Good luck Richelieu. With your current operating procedures you're going to need it if you don't want to end up like Sears, Target, Chapters, Future Shop, Zellers, A&B Sound, Nortel, etc....
