Had a window ordered through a contractor (who was fired for incomplete and poor workmanship) in august of 2021. Prairie Boys sent me a receipt in October as the account and $1500 deposit was transferred to my name. Fast forward to Feb/2022, and they received my window in at the shop, but due to poor weather, it would be a bit for the install (completely understandable as it was a frozen hell of a winter). I called them back in mid March to find a day when the window would be installed and was told at the end of April. April came and went without a single word from Prairie Boys. I had called several times and left several messages for them to call me back. Finally, on May16/22 I was able to speak to someone again and asked the window to be installed today (June 14/22). I called them in the morning several times from my phone, but there was no answer, my friend called from his and the secretary immediately answered. I spoke to her and she told me the window would not likely be installed today (despite the month that it was in their schedule), and that the secretary was unable to contact Joe (the owner) or any other employee, but she would call me back as soon as she was able to connect with someone. At around 3pm I went to the store front location as I hadn’t received a call back and, surprise surprise, the store doors are locked. I called them again and left a message for them to call me back immediately. Additionally, I contacted the BBB and filed a complaint with them. The woman I spoke to at the BBB even said “oh, we get a lot of complaints about them”. If my window is not installed in a reasonable amount of time I will be getting a full refund on the custom ordered window.100% do not recommend this company. They are unreliable, non-communicative, and absolutely unprofessional.

Do not give these guys any deposits. They will steal your cash. We waited well over 4 months for a door that I'm pretty sure was never even ordered. Joe the owner was very unresponsive. Finally after threatening my lawyer and the police he sent me my money back. Do not deal with this company.Dont say I didn't warn you.Scam for sure.

Coming on 8 months and I still don't have my door. After 4 months they installed a slab door so my carpenters could finish inside renovations. Joe had promised brick mold would cover any stucco damage on exterior... Jr staff arrived and cut huge hole in exterior taking out excess stucco and I now have 2 of caulking gooped all around the outside of the brick mold. At end of April they changed out the door for mine

Absolutely horrible experience. Paid a 50% deposit on a sliding door in like October - was told 6 to 8 weeks to install. I stressed the timing because our existing sliding door freezes up in the winter and is horrible to use, they told me no problem. At the twelve week mark I called for an update and the runaround began. The receptionist always had the same thing to say 'I'll remind Joe (the owner) and he'll call with an update'. This went on for many weeks. Just before Christmas they told me the door was in and they'd call in January for an install. In late January I had to travel for work, our existing door was miserable to use, and my wife was pregnant - I called Prairie Boy and pleaded with them to come and install our door. Receptionist sympathized with me and told me that she'd call Joe to schedule an emergency install. Many weeks went by again and nothing. Sometime in March I started calling every single day to find out where my door was. I presented three options - come and install the door, let me pick up the door and I'll install it, or cancel the order and I'll go elsewhere. After another couple weeks of me calling basically every single day they finally admitted that they didn't actually have the door. In fact, I was told that Joe would call the manufacturer and see about cancelling the order if I wanted. My guess is they never actually ordered my door, but I'll never know. After many more calls I was told that they would refund me, and that Joe would sent me an EMT for the deposit amount within a few days. Another several days go by and nothing, so I start calling again. Eventually I tell them that if I didn't see that EMT in two days I'd back charge my credit card - thankfully I paid the deposit on MasterCard for exactly this reason. The receptionist asked me several times NOT to do this, as she'd be the one dealing with it and they were no longer on the Moneris payment system. She claimed it was because of the fees, but I sometimes wonder if it's because other people went through the same thing. Three days went by and I back charged the card. I was well past MasterCard's 120-day deadline, but I was happy to provide them an e-mail chain and many recorded phone calls with promises of EMT refunds. I am posting this review now because I just received notice that MasterCard has closed the dispute and we are keeping our money. I hope the recovery folks at MasterCard were successful and that they pursued Prairie Boy much more aggressively than I could have. It sounds like a lot of people have had a similar experience over the last 6 months. Each time someone asks about our new windows and doors (we went with someone else) I make a point to steer them away from Prairie Boy. Don't waste your money (just my opinion).

We ordered a front door and paid a deposit of $2700 in November 2021. It is now July 2022 and still no sign of the door. Got some excuses at first for the reasons for the delay and now he is ghosting us completely. We will be filing a claim with the police and small claims court. We have other contacts in the window and door industry that have also tried reaching out to Joe on our behalf to at least find out if the door exists and can be transferred to them to install but they have also been unable to reach him.

I will be pursuing legal action. Joe took a $20k deposit on a $47k window/door order. Said he would have them installed April 10th. This guy will not answer his phone. I have called up to 20 times a day for the last month and every couple days before that. Secretary knows nothing. I finally went to the window manufacturer and convinced them to release what windows he did actually order though I had to pay more to get them released. I am still missing about 6 windows and three doors. T What a completely useless, crooked human.

On October 6th, 2021 put a $3000 deposit down on 4 new windows in my house. I was told by Joe the owner that there were some supply chain issues and the windows may take some time to come in. I was okay with that and was willing to wait a bit for my windows. Over the course of the next 9 months, I was told many times the windows were in and there will be an install date in the next few weeks. Always the same old story, no phone call and no contact at all from Prairie Boy. I had to call them and I called almost every week. I was told my windows were in stock in April 2021 and that they will be installed in May. I phoned again in May and they tell me the windows are not in stock. The woman on the phone said my windows may not have even been ordered? I have made my first request for a refund on June 9th, 2021 as I am tired of waiting. I just requested my second attempt at a refund on June 13th, 2021. I have also filed a police report for fraud against Joe Myers and Prairie Boy Windows. I am very concerned that this criminal organization took my money, never ordered any windows, and now I have no recourse to get my money. They no longer answer their phone. I am being told that I have to take Joe and Prairie Boy Windows to small claims court to get my money!DO NOT USE PRAIRIE BOY WINDOWS. THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!

August of 2021 I gave them a deposit of $1800 for a new front door. I was told because of delays from the pandemic the door would not arrive until November . I contacted the company in November and was told the door was still delayed and was told to phone back in December . In December I was told the door would not arrive until January and it would be installed in February . February came and no door, I contacted them again and was told because of the cold winter they are delayed with installations and it would be installed in March . Every month it was the same story and I was never contacted for updates by the company . Finally in June I contacted my credit card company and filed a complaint and was refunded my deposit. I have doubts that the door was even ordered by the company .

If there was a negative rating, this company would get it. It has been almost a year since I ordered my 2 doors . I was told 6-8 weeks they would be installed. Last August my doors were booked to be installed and I have had the run around non stop. Have taken time off work to sit and wait for no one to show. Excuse after excuse. Classless organization. The owner is a coward who won't return your call. If you are thinking of using this company I would highly recommend running the other way.
