learned a lot about the proud fishing history at the site and the area. The museum includes a fascinating overview of that history, as well as changes in technology, the people, the culture and social life of the community.

Very informative site about the fishing industry and life in the early years of Newfoundland. Unfortunately it was a cold day and there is very little heat in these buildings, so we all were cold. They also don't have everything open yet due to a lack of staff.

The staff at this site are amazing!!! So accommodating and great with our young children (aged 2 and 4). While the exhibits were extremely interesting and well put together, the staff really made this visit special. It would be great if Parks Canada could make this site part of their explorer program.Since most of the visit is inside, this is something to do when the weather isn’t the best.

Informative but lackluster. Half the premises was closed in the middle of the day during peak tourism season. This was not indicated online anywhere. Not remotely enough staff to bring anything to life. Overall a disappointment, with buildings and displays needing attention/maintenance.

Don't waste your time. Half the facilities are closed, there's no substantial display of actual fishing gear or processes, and there are an inadequate number of interpreters on hand to explain the significance and details of the industry to visitors. During our visit, there wasn't so much as an English-language pamphlet available.Tourists would get a more informative explanation of the fishery from any retired fisherman with a stage in the hundreds of communities along the coasts.You only have to look at the peeling paint on the exterior of the facilities to realize that this endeavour isn't being taken seriously.In short, it's a shameful and lazy effort to detail a formative colonial undertaking. It should embarass locals and frustrate visitors.

Very interesting, gives you a brief knowledge of how Newfoundland and its cod fishing industry came about. Learnt lots, puts many things in context.

It's worth going to see. Lots of history. Very well done museum.
