George House Heritage Bed and Breakfast

His experience in the hospitality industry and design features to keep heritage value with modern needs, he has a great B&B to try out. The story from Julie K seems bogus after our stay with Todd.

We had an amazing stay here in June 2019. The home has so much character and every detail had been carefully taken care of. Great location just across from the brewery, where we went for dinner and drinks. It was a nice little surprise to come back after dinner and find our bed had been turned down with a couple of chocolates and a little note. Beautiful views of the waterfront. I enjoyed the books on local history and photos that were in our room for bedtime reading. Breakfast the next morning was incredible. It was wonderful to wake up to the smells of fresh baking and bacon wafting up the stairs. You're treated like the Queen. We enjoyed hearing where the other guests were from and their adventures in Newfoundland so far. I was so full at breakfast I didn't have room for the croissant, luckily it was packed up to go (so fresh, buttery soft and flakey) along with a couple of fresh cookies which we thoroughly appreciated later that afternoon on our adventures. He also has a great little cookbook that I picked up a copy of. Treat yourself to more than one night here if time allows. It was truly a pleasure to stay where your expectations are exceeded!

The service here is unbeatable. Todd was such a gracious host with special touches everywhere, from the turn down service to fresh baked goodies. His attention to detail is clear to see and our stay at his B&B was beyond my expectations. The breakfast was like a gourmet meal with fresh croissants, fruit, omelette, sausage, and potatoes, it was hard to believe we got such fantastic service for an inclusive breakfast.

Such a lovely place! The building itself is extremely quaint and well-kept, with sitting areas all around the property. The room was clean and had a ton of character! The bed we had was probably one of the best-quality beds I have ever slept on while traveling. The breakfast was awesome and the host was lovely. If you are staying in Dildo, stay here. The George House is also walking distance from the brewery, making for easy evening plans!

The house was absolutely beautiful and our huge bathroom was sooo lovely.The breakfast included in the price was amazing.. freshly made blueberry cake and croissants plus more. ...the best continental breakfast I ever had.The Inn experience overlooking the Harbour was a highlight

The only positive thing to say is that our room was clean. Our bed wasn't even a queen. There was barely any room to walk around the bed. No room for a suitcase. Because of COVID we requested that breakfast be brought to our room. It was pitiful. Nothing like what others describe in their reviews. The place looks like a museum. Not even water was offered to us. Every B&B I have stayed at has cookies or a little snack for the guests. This place offered nothing. Todd, the owner, was rude. I asked him for more tissues and he just left them on the stairs. He has no social skills and was very unpleasant. I couldn't wait to get out of there.In response to your comment below: You are unprofessional and a liar! We didn't trash your room. We were very neat and respectful of your property. And we didn't bring any food into your B&B. We don't even eat fried chicken or potato chips. That mess must have been left by another dissatisfied guest. You are a blatant liar. And we had nothing but wonderful things to say about the people of Newfoundland. They are warm, welcoming people. Our stays in other hotels were wonderful experiences. So much so, that we are still in touch with the friends we made there. You are the sad, pathetic exception to beautiful Newfoundland.

This B&B is a must! The building is charming, the room was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and Todd was a wonderful host! We will be back!

Small but pretty rooms. Very comfortable king size bed with good pillows and sheets. Shower within the bathtub. Room had one chair and the bed for seating. Downstairs in the main house was a sitting room and a dining room available to use. Outside had sitting areas with the front porch having beautiful views. Lots of on site parking. Due to COVID breakfast was brought to your room consisting of homemade muffins and banana bread, yogurt, cheese, tea and very good coffee. If a small room works for you then this is a great place to stay.

Recently stayed here for a business trip. The house was beautifully decorated with the most unique vintage feel. It felt like a scene in the Bridgerton tv series. The view of the ocean from my room was so nice to wake up too. The special touches in the rooms from toiletries to the rubber ducky didn’t go unnoticed. Todd was so welcoming and prepared a great light breakfast knowing we had a long workday ahead of us. I made a joke about ghosts given the age of the home and I loved the stories Todd shared of the history of the home. Thanks again for your hospitality!
