This restaurant exists only because there is no competition in Mississauga. We went there only because we don’t have a lot of options in this city. Dim sum was mediocre.. maybe acceptable for non-Chinese standard, but definitely sub par for my standard. I have never been to a place where my husband would tell me don’t order Cheung Fun cos they were really thick. The one star is for the fried noodle (hor fun). Better go to Markham and Richmond Hill if you want to have quality dim sum.

They have dimsum carts going around in the weekend so you can quickly get what you want. If you like freshly make then order from the menu. The dimsum carts ladies are very friendly and working hard to ensure the customer gets what they like.

I usually go here with my family and we enjoy the dim sum. I went here again with my boyfriend because he was visiting my city and he knows many dim sum dishes, and I learned that in reality, this place has a limited selection of dim sum. The service is alright, it’s really just them saying the name of the food in chinese. I don’t remember the dish that I tried (will attach photo) but it tastes good!! Wait time can be long so I recommend coming early or reserving if possible. Btw it’s one of the few asian places who actually charge you for the tea, which was super bitter…They also charge you 12% service fee by default. I dont recommend the crab claw because it’s $7 PER CLAW. I can make this at home.

The crispy chicken was really good! Went during dinner so couldn't order any dim sum. It was a bit pricey for a few dishes but everything is expensive these days.

Emerald Chinese Restaurant
First time been to this restaurant in Mississauga last weekend. The food quality is excellent. They provide a wide variety of options, some even hard to find in GTA area. I particularly like their dim sum delivery style. We do not order by paper or tablet, but can see and hear the dim sum options from their cart. This is old style Hong Kong Chinese dim sum and hard to find anywhere else. Love the experience, highly recommended.

Nothing really special about the place. 80s decor, pushy staff and bad food.Food was generally boring and lacked flavour. We ordered some of their specialties and they were worse than Manchu Work from a food court. DimSum was ok.Came at 1 and they had to reheat several dishes on the carts because they were cold. Servers were pretty pushy and everything they recommended wasn't good.Many better places in Toronto.

Grand dimsum place and on the weekend it is packed. Love the variety although I would like to see few vegetarian items on the cart. They do have veggies dish to order from the menu.

Emerald Chinese Restaurant
We have ordered for pick up here in the past. Today we were told 20 minutes for pick up so we showed up at that time. We waited another 15 or 20 before the food came out. The restaurant was as busy as it usually is in the evening. Perhaps they didn't have enough staff. Unfortunate.

Emerald Chinese Restaurant
My first time at the Emerald for lunch with a friend today, and first dim sum since the pandemic started. Traditional pushcart delivery, fast service. But most dishes were taken away to be reheated before being served.I thought the food was at best okay, not better than that. The noodles were probably the best item, followed by the green beans. The duck was okay, very boney. The pork buns were IMHO poor, mostly bun with a little wiener inside.Everything seemed quite processed and very salty.The room itself is large and generally tasteful. At 1 pm on a weekday the restaurant was not busy.With tea only, $36 per person. I don't imagine I'll be back.
