The Optical Shop on Whyte

This is a really awesome experience. I would like to buy a pair of sunglasses here. Once I got inside, people working there were so nice and showed me many choices and helped me with the best one. With the best smiling face in the world, the young girl helped me for examine the eyes. The doctor was even nicer to explain my eyes and related things. He was very patient and gentle, professional and knowledgeable. I have learned a lot by short meeting with him. Such a nice gentleman! He also told me that my eyes were really healthy which relaxed me. Because I worried too much about my eyes, I replied on my one good eye too much. The boss was a very nice lady, she patiently and nicely helped me about everything. I felt like at home when I stayed there. When I talked about my health card without a plastic bag, she immediately gave me one for free. Such a kind and nice lady. I love being their customers. After just two days, my sunglasses are ready. Actually, this is one of my best shopping experiences in the past. Very cheerful!

A very infuriating experienced! how terrible the service is! me and my wife were there on time for our eye examination, and suddenly a man and his family were late fore more than 30 minutes cuts our que. I told one of the staff that you’re cutting our line for a late patient, but, she went straight to the optometrist to arrange what the guy needs. To make it worst, the optometrist accommodated the guy and his family in front of us. If they could only ask in a good manner. Thank you for assisting your new clients with such manner.

The staff were very helpful in assisting me. I honestly had no idea where to begin when looking for my first pair of prescription glasses and they made the process so easy and enjoyable. The also helped me save a lot of paper work by helping me directly claim my insurance. Overall, I would highly recommend this place!

We have had great service and great prices from the Optical Shop. For what I paid for new lens in my old frame, I was able to get a new pair of glasses PLUS top line lens. They have great prices (better than Hakim and better selection as well). Their service has been outstanding as well. We had a problem with the lens in our new glasses. They sent them back and got it fixed - no problem. I am happy to recommend them - they seem more than fair and great people to deal with as well!

Have gone to the Optical shop on Whyte for many years and always had great service. unfortunately not the last time. Started out by them giving me progressive lenses, which I have had before, and never had a problem. Got a full eye exam, and I mentioned that I had eye surgery for cataracts and had new inter ocular lenses put in. The Dr did not say I could not have the progressives. Tried for almost a year to get use to them to no avail.Went back on Sept 21 for new exam and the new Dr told them that because of my lens surgery that I can not wear Progressive Lenses .They would not give me new lenses but gave me a discount,It is now Oct 10 and I am still waiting for my glasses.Paid full amount up front, maybe I should have just given a deposit.They keep telling me they are putting the coating on.Not to impressed with the service this time.

I came in needing a pair of glasses, and she was super patient trying on at least 30 pairs till we found a good one. She was very helpful!

My partner and I have got several pairs of glasses there over the last 6 years. They direct bill and our glasses always come in within a week or so! Also friendly and accommodating while we try on many frames and deliberate.

Worst shop ever. Recommended a pair of cheap plastic frame and single vision lenses and costed me 350 for my 8 year old. Later talked to an optician working at another shop. He told me it cost 1/3 at Costco.The frame broke in 6 months btw. What kind of low life rip off little kids?

Selection was not bad and prices seemed fair, but the process of working with this business is just not worth it. They withhold glasses until payment of insurance (Bluecross) is made. Ordered glasses May 2019 and came back in June from vacation and was told that Bluecross did not send a check for full amount ($178 instead of $500). They asked me to pay the difference if I wanted my glasses, which would leave me to get a reimbursement from insurance. Turns out they didn’t do proper verification and that cheque was sent for another customer. Fast forward a week I come in and still they have no idea what’s going on and will not give me glasses. They apparently needed to check their accounts to see if payment had been deposited even though Bluecross confirmed payment was made. I will have to go in a third time to pick up. I have very little confidence in their business practice or abilities. Would not recommend.
