Shelburne Veterinary

It was good, so happy to have had funacial help from Pet Projects..our Prince had a double whammy, surgery to get fixed plus was attacked by porcupine quills the night before. On the mend with antibiotics and pain meds!!!

Ive been iffy on this place due to past experiences but I will say the front desk lady and the vet were amazing and super friendly. Her helper on the other hand was either done with the day or isn't fond of her job, none the less when you work with the public you put your happy face on and fake it to make it. That's all I will say.

They were so good with our pets

They are not taking new clients so it’s doubtful you can become a patient anyway. As summer visitors to Shelburne they reluctantly helped us when our dog with mast cell tumor needed to be put down. The service was preformed in a kind manner, yet it was scheduled several days after our desperate need. Who does that? Next Tuesday at 2 we can euthanize your dog?It was suggested I call later on to determine if they are taking new clients. Every time I call it’s a no-go. Of course we want a Vet close to our home in case of emergency. We don’t mind a yearly “well-check” visit, too. Unfortunately, this is not that kind of Veterinary clinic.The previous Veterinary Shelburne clinic was wonderful! Losing that kind of inclusive, caring, skilled clinic has been a terrible blow to a fabulous small town. The former clinic was not open every day but if you needed their help they welcomed you, they advised you, they did their best. Wish this new place would change their ways … or that another clinic would establish in Shelburne, NS.

Very poor business practice ☹️ customer service is appauling. Make an appointment and they cancel it the day of. Guess you got to be a certain kind of person for them to take in.

Would give zero stars if that was an option. Unfortunately we had to bring our pet here to be put down. The experience was far from comforting as they didn’t administer the proper amount of anesthesia. Process was not smooth and made our dog suffer. Furthermore they don’t maintain proper records. Would strongly advise people to take their pets elsewhere. Got the impression they are more about money then they are caring for pets.

Beyond grateful for the doctor and staff's emergency help. My dog was in rough shape after a porcupine attack Labour Day (late night) and they immediately assisted him with care and kindness.As it was a holiday, and because I am new to and unfamiliar with the area, I appreciated their help for our beloved dog.Highly recommended.

Dr Rebecca Steele was really good with Chico...she seemed to make it so he trusted her...mind you the liver snacks helped...she offered a few different ways to help treat Chico's allergy...very informative and very helpful....thank you

I'd heard a number of bad things about this place but wanted to reserve judgement. I dropped in this morning to ask about creating homemade cat food and nutritional supplements to add to it and they said they couldn't help me. That's fine and before they reply to this saying I was angry that they couldn't, I was not, though it wouldn't have killed them to ask a few questions and offer suggestions. They didn't even ask if I've tried the vet foods they have there. What upset me was as soon as I walked in, I got a horrible look from one person and the other ignored me until I asked why they can't be friendly. That's when I got they we are overworked"
