The Luminous Elephant

Went to a birthday party for a 6 year old at this studio. Was pretty chaotic, but heads up, they are using non-washable paint. My kid's shirt is ruined, and they have not responded to my two emails.

Our experience was unique!The Luminous Elephant studio gave my daughter Maya, age 7, all she could dream of on her birthday: ferries, magic, love and imagination.All her little friends were thrilled.I would recommend The Luminous Elephant to any family who plans a party(young or older"): there is no other space in Vancouver that offers such a professional planning and yet such a deep and true loving experience."

My 5 year old daughter had a wonderful birthday party at Luminous Elephant! The studio is beautiful and bright, with lots of free parking out front. Summer did an amazing job instructing the children and keeping them engaged, she was patient and fun! The kids were delighted to take home their colourful floral paintings. Thanks again!

I have taken several classes at the The Luminous Elephant including, Blue Sky and Pop Art (painting classes), and I've also had the pleasure of going to a couple small events there as well.The instructors are talented, and professional, but also patient and kind, which is great for someone like me who is just getting back into the game. Also, the vibrant studio vibe makes made one want to get the creative juices flowing.I can't wait to take more classes at the The Luminous Elephant!

The classes are so much fun, with the perfect amount of direction and instruction in my opinion. I liked my first one so much that I signed up for a second set of classes right afterwards. I feel a lot more comfortable starting my own projects now with the skills I’ve learnt. The classes I took were all using watercolor!

Our daughter has been taking classes for over two years at the Luminous Elephant :) The Shine On photography classes are the highlight of her week! Madelyn is always so encouraging and supportive and thoughtful during the classes that our daughter has just flourished! We are so grateful that we are a part of the Luminous Elephant family! I've been to The Luminous Elephant for both a photography lesson as well as an adult painting workshop. Both were great experiences! I not only had a great time but also felt like I learned a lot and expanded my artistic skills. Since taking the workshop I have found it easier to start painting on my own. All the staff are super friendly and great at making someone like me who hasn't picked up a paintbrush in awhile feel comfortable exploring their artistic side :)

I celebrated my 60th birthday party at the Luminous Elephant. The wonderful Madelyn organized a beautiful and magical in-studio party for my Bubble" with a virtual extension to friends and family across the country. She organized and distributed boxes of art supplies with brushes

I wish there were more than 5 stars to give for Luminous Elephant and owner, Maddie. I participated in the recent Art Day Retreat and was overjoyed both by the content and the atmosphere of the program. I left with two gorgeous art pieces (which, for a non-painter, felt incredible), a beautiful terrarium, a lovely bracelet, and a camera filled with fantastic photographs. I also took away a lighter heart, a clearer vision for the new year, greater confidence and skills, connection to an amazing group of individuals, and warm memories. I was positively floored by the planning and love that clearly went into the day - from the thoughtful, personal stories generously shared by Maddie to the yoga, mediation, and wonderfully healthy food and drinks we were gifted to nourish mind, body, and spirit. I am already signed up for another of their upcoming events and I am certain this charming studio will see me participating in many more in the future. If you are thinking about signing up for an art class, I genuinely think you could not do any better than Luminous Elephant!

A group of us went to LE for a team bonding experience. Carla, our instructor was capable, funny and light-hearted. Along with Maddie, we felt very comfortable and at-home. The space is beautiful and would be great for birthday parties, showers etc... I think they hold events (socials) from time to time as well. Check their site to confirm. Definitely recommend!
