By The Sea Inn & Café

This place was excellent!I got a seafood chowder, the thing that impressed me the most was the in-house freshly-baked dinner roll! 5 stars, just for that. (I mean, the rest of the soup was delicious too)The view was very nice across the harbour, unfortunately a bit cold for patio seating.Service was prompt and excellent. Facilities were clean and well kept.Would recommend if you're in the area.

Just popped in for lunch. The food and service was top notch. Couldn't say enough good things about this place. Location was perfect with a huge deck overlooking the ocean. Will definitely be back.

Seems this place is overhyped or maybe you have to order something specific to have a 5 star experience.Service was good. Sat outside, table wasn't totally clean. Nachos looked and tasted extremely plain and boring. Husband ordered a seafood dish which looked okay but I can only comment on my own experience and what I tasted.Restaurant was very large and provided outdoor seating with a beautiful ocean view.I would recommend this restaurant to families, as there seems to be something on the menu for almost everyone except vegans and some special diets.

We ate at the cafe for supper and the food was delicious and was served very quickly. Highly recommend the fish and chips!

This is mainly a review of the inn, which we stayed for one night. Reception was handled by the restaurant staff who were busy when we arrived, yet were still very welcoming and took the time to show us to our room and explain things about the inn. We had a large room on the second floor right on the dock, with a great view of the bay. It had a kitchen and jacuzzi tub (we didn't use it). It appeared that all the other rooms were being renovated so we basically had the whole floor (the whole inn?) to ourselves. Like every other place we stayed in Newfoundland, it was very clean. Very quiet after the restaurant below closed, so sleep was peaceful. Full, table-service, breakfast in the morning (which began at 10 a.m. when we stayed) with the same friendly service we experienced during check-in. Close to some shops and additional places to eat in King's Point.

Dropped in for lunch as we were planning to do a trail in the Springdale area. Unfortunately we were VERY disappointed with the food at this restaurant. Given the good reviews I was shocked I brought my family here as the fish and chips were mediocre, fries were not fresh, pizza we ordered wasn’t cooked properly and the veggies on top still looked raw. Would not recommend this place!

We had a great late breakfast here. Well prepared bacon and eggs. Excellent Toutons with nice molasses from a squirt bottle! The service was excellent - friendly and helpful. Stop in here!!!! If it’s a nice day, the covered patio right on the water is great!!!!!

Great food, great staff. Didn't stay in a room. Lovely view of the bay.

Stopped in for lunch to break up a long drive and we were so glad we did! The food was great and the servers were very friendly. It was a bit too windy to sit on the deck, but the views were gorgeous! Definitely recommended.
