There is nothing on their menu that has disappointed me in any way.Oysters are my go to for a good evening snack with a glass of Prosecco.The staff at the bar & oyster bar are absolutely great! Friendly & personable.

Staffs are kind, foods are so yummy.I love how fresh oysters are every time. Bone marrow and beef tartare were decent as well. Cocktail also delicious.It's worth to go sometimes. You might wanna make a reservation since it's full booked most of time. Every time I walk in, I sat at the bar.Oh right. Their patio vibe is super cute!

This is definitely a must visit restaurant, and one of my all time favourites in Ottawa!We had the cold seafood platter, which was very fresh, and so delicious.My party and I had a very attentive server who made us feel very welcome, and was approachable and knowledgable about the menu. The decor is another amazing aspect of the restaurant, and I loved the darker lighting.

Excellent time here at The Whalesbone. Seafood platter was so fresh and delicious. It made us all begin to speculate just when was this bounty, pulled from the sea? The abundance made us feel greatful.Our service was very good as we were tended to by a few fellas, and never left to languish.My only criticism is that this bar/restaurant is REALLY LOUD. Maybe not a problem for others, but it was for me. Who knows? The decor is fine and warm, but all surfaces a hard. No surfaces are absorbent, so it gets Really Loud. They need some absorbent baffles added as decor, or panels as wall art.Will I be back? Sure. The food was great, the service was great. Cheers!

The best place to get oysters! All of their food was amazing and the service was on point. Sit at the bar if you can. Went twice back to back, due to $2 a shuck the next day.

Second time at Whalesbone - had to come back for the chowder. It's honestly the best I've ever had. The service is always incredible the staff truly love what they do and you can tell! We love sitting at the bar watching the oyster-shucking action. We also had the Ahi Tuna Tostada, Scallops & Pork Belly and my husband had the burger. All of it was top-notch. This will always be on my list when I visit Ottawa and should be on yours too.

Very good flash fried calamari, we had the hot platter and it was one of the better ones we have had in the city. The atmosphere is more of a a chill vibe. He found that the lobster sandwiches the muscles and the fish cake was so so, the shrimp and scallops were phenomenal. Bread and butter tasted like croissant so good.

This restaurant is located conveniently to the Parliament. Friendly service. It is not overly busy. The dinning room is not too big, so if you don't have reservation, you will most likely be sitting at the tall table. We ordered 3 appetizers, the beef tartare is very good with the herbs, blended in very well. The other is baked oyster, with cheese. Well, a bit small and cheese is a bit too much. The bone marrow is fantastic and well cooked.

Whalesbone is a staple in Ottawa. Excellent service and ambience. I’ve never had a bad meal at Whalesbone. You can’t go wrong with any of the entrees. I highly recommend getting the oysters when you come. The sauces, the presentation is fabulous.
