Tara Manor Historic Inn

We enjoyed our stay at Tara Manor and would gladly stay there again. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We visited during the off season so it was not crowded. It has a convenient location and is surrounded by nice grounds. In the evenings just before sunset and again in the mornings just after sunrise, we saw a herd of deer grazing majestically on the property. The only negative is that they do not have drink or snack machines any where on the property.

Breakfast was great in a nicely situated diningroom! Access to our room was unsafe and caused an accident to happen. Owners were very helpful. Location is not very far from down town St. Andrews and this makes it convenient for travellers.

Such a well preserved property to explore. The staff were marvellous and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay.A+ pool and great times to be had by the fire pit. Thank you so much!

We checked into the manor on Sept friday 14th, in the afternoon. The front lady was not friendly. Asked to take a menu to our room she said no, which is odd, because if want to promote guests to stay and eat you would think that this would be a service.The room did not smell nice, like mildew and we had to move the pullout couch just to open it, therefore seeing that the springs were not all there and the mattress was very thin.Breakfast was included with the room, was based for older people. Very basic and we were offered a coupon to eat in the restaurant for $5 per person, so they really want you to eat in the full service restaurant, not the complimentary one.This is not a kid friendly place, rooms and atmosphere are based for older people. Not young people with children.I would not recommend this place for anyone, thank goodness it was just a pit stop.

I can't give a 5 because of the lack of renovation in the past 40 years. The restaurant is worth a 5-star rating because of the taste, portionning and haut de gamme" service

Beautiful spot, very friendly and helpful service. Nice rooms and clean. Unfortunately, one downside the rooms smelled very moldy. So I was disappointed, as I have very bad allergies and therefore, was not able to stay.

After doing much research I called to book the Tara Manor Inn for our stay in St. Andrew's. We were traveling with a pet and were looking for the budget friendly option of an Inn.They were not able to accommodate our entire vacation time so after confirming their availability I called back to book the stay. I provided my credit card and was told a confirmation would be sent. I saw that the confirmation email arrived but didn't open it. I called and booked it directly with the hotel and there was nothing ambiguous about the call and my intention to complete the booking.After driving from Ottawa we arrive at the hotel to discover that our reservation had been booked as a temporary reservation and our room had been released.The hotel staff was passingly apologetic and pushed a road side motel with the equivalent of a shrug. We were clearly upset that we didn't receive any kind of call or notification that the room was being released.This was a staffing error on the part of the Tara Manor and the fact that this error had caused us to arrive from a 15 hour drive without a hotel reservation at the height of the summer season seemed of little concern to the hotel who seemed borderline argumentative. I've subsequently read reviews about the lack of professionalism from the hotel staff and that was certainly our experience as well.Thankfully the Algonquin where we had booked for the final weekend was able to accommodate us for the full stay and upgraded our room after hearing what we had been through proving that you really do get what you pay for.

Rooms were large, clean and well set up with thoughtfulness toward what may be needed for a short term stay. We found the bed very comfortable.Breakfast was tasty with a large variety of home made muffins as well as fruit, cereals etc. I was pleased to have gluten free bread made available as well.

Wonderful Manor in a relaxing environment. We spent one night in St Andrews here and we enjoyed our stay. The staff after super friendly and the complimentary breakfast was great. Will come back next time I'm in town!

Beautiful spacious room. Super friendly staff. They helped us on how to get to Campodello Island. Fantastic breakfast. Large bathroom with a larger than usual bathtub. DVD player. Comfy beds. Just the best.
