I strongly recommend AJW Engineering. I have worked with them on the engineering and design of permanent and temporary projects. I've worked with a number of different firms in Ontario and BC, and I find AJW to be exceptionally responsive, and willing to work through design problems - they have gone the extra mile for me. My field is public art- it is by nature a difficult field, since it almost always involves odd or difficult materials to work, unusual applications of standard materials, or complicated structures. Plus the clients - the artists - are themselves not trained in making shop drawings and only have cobbled together knowledge of the means and methods of the construction industry. It can be hard getting engineers to agree to do this kind of work at all, since it is by nature always a bit of an extra hassle for them, involving an extra amount of back and forth and hashing out. But AJW has been fantastic - I love working with this firm.

AJW Engineering resolved my issue with the City Inspector. They were prompt when I booked the appointment and very professional when we met. They answered all my questions and explained everything in detail even when I had a hard time understanding or explaining my issue. If I knew this I would have called them sooner. Saeed Moayyedian was great to deal with he had everything done sooner than he said he would. Trust me if you are stressed over any engineering issues or want a great company trustworthy of their engineering experience you need to call AJW Engineering. Sheena and Kelsey were excellent at taking care of our engineering and planning needs end-to-end for our cottage alterations. From helping advise on the best layout for a garage conversion to assisting with the submission for the planning office to consider our boathouse application they took care of every step. Changes to drawings were turned around in 24hrs or less. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. Some work-in-progress pictures of the work are attached, based on their drawings
