Visited this place for the first time today and was very pleased with the quality of the bread and service the young man provided. He was able to answer all my questions. Would recommend this shop 100%.

Their most popular mocha mochi bun now got discontinued. Not sure why but they should keep the best selling one instead.

I’m from Japan. If you like Japanese style bakery, this place is by far the best in Vancouver. No other places come anywhere close to this place. The quality of each products will not disappoint you. The softness of outer layer and subtle richness of inner content are superb. Hope everyone tries this place!

Just had their roll cakes…yummm!! The cakes were so soft and light with inside cream tasty but not too sweet.

Owner is good at marketing so I was fooled by how it looks. Breads are over-priced. Smaller than palm size was over $4.3 ? I still bought soboro chestnut cube with a hope that I could find life-changing bread. But the chestnut that they put in the bread was not what I thought. It reminds me of T&T roasted chestnut. Aside from chestnut, the texture was good and soboro part was crunch and delicious. Mugwort mochi was decent. But not that special. Overall, I am not so amazed by this place.. probably because my expectation was high.

(Edit)I am adding the 5th star as they seem like they have upped their game in baking. They seem to use high quality and healthy ingredients and I haven't found similar product any where else. Other bakeries I've been to just don't have the kind of bread and quality this place has. I highly recommend trying their chestnut bread, mocha mochi bread and their loaves. I hope this place keeps up their quality and stay in business for a long time.(Previous review was 4 stars)this place was hard to find, tucked away in the corner of a plaza adjacent to hannam market. We went around 1pm on Thursday and already they were out of a lot of their stuff. I’m not sure if it’s because of Covid, but they didn’t have any cakes/roll cakes. I wanted to try their mochi but they were out as well. We got a soboro chestnut bread, chocolate bread (ganache was divine!) and a chestnut bun. costed me little over $11. They ALL exceeded my expectations and I can’t wait to go back and try others. It would be a good idea to call and order in advance. There’s another bakery in the same plaza and if I were to compare them, Mr. Paris bakery is good, but taste factory-made and maison mori taste more gourmet.

This hidden gem of a bakery is serving up beautiful and delicious bread featuring my favourite flavours - chestnut and sweet potato! ⠀The Sweet Potato Cube (고구마 큐브) is soft and fluffy with a caramelized crust. The interior is studded with SO MUCH SWEET POTATO!Don’t sleep on this place! My top picks are: Soboro Chestnut Cube, Chestnut White Bean Bun, and Honey Toast. ⠀⠀⠀

Maison Mori’s cakes, bread, and baked goodies never disappoint. This year, I was so sad to find out that they discontinued their grape cake. When I put in a special request for my daughter’s birthday though, the owners were kind enough to fill the order to make the birthday celebration extra special. As expected, the cake was nothing short of perfection -- the bread was not too sweet and pleasantly moist, the cream was lightweight and fresh, and the grapes were huge and delicious. Maison Mori’s service and quality of bread consistently deserve a five-star rating. This bakery has become my go-to and I will be returning again and again.

I had the red bean butter, sweet potato goguma bread, cream milk bun, mugwort mochi bun, walnut mocha bread. My advise is go early as they may run out of a specific type of bread. My least favourite was the mugwort mochi bun. My favourite one was the red bean butter and the walnut mocha bread. I find the bread here more unique. It's something you would only find in Korea from the ingredients. I also like that their breads and fillings aren't too sweet. The lady who helped out front was also very helpful when choosing the buns.Tip: try the red bean butter bread and the walnut mocha bread. Remember to choose 6 so that there's no tax!
