An incredible company doing really important work in Calgary. The food YYC Growers provides is so fresh. And of course it would be, it's grown by the farmers, who own the business. This is an excellent way to meet your farmers and have guarantees about where your food comes from. Their Harvest Box has also grown to include a bunch of great add-ons making it a place to get almost all your delicious groceries.

Our family has been getting a harvest box for over a year. I absolutely can’t say enough about how amazing everyone at YYC Growers is. Have a question, email them and they will happily reply (thanks Logan). Are you interested in volunteering? Contact Julia and become a part of their movement to provide local fresh produce to Calgary and area. Don’t like something forecast for your box? Simply ask to substitute another veggie that you love. Yyc growers has helped my family get through Covid as the joy of receiving our fresh veggies (and don’t forget a fruit share!) has been so wonderful. In the past year we have enjoyed fiddleheads, asparagus, collard greens, and every other veggie I could list! I absolutely encourage anyone who wants fresh local veggies to check them out, you won’t regret it! Thanks YYC growers!!!

I'm so happy I found YYC Growers! When working on placing my first order I had a few questions and the team responded immediately! I was thrilled with that level of service which has been very hard to come by in the last few years.

We really enjoy getting a weekly Harvest Box & fruit share. We were signed up in previous years, but then started growing our own food, so stopped for a time. At the start of COVID19, we signed up again and have been so happy with the increased variety we are experiencing this time around! Contactless delivery right to our door was a bonus too! We will continue with our subscription throughout the winter and coming months! Love!

We love our weekly vegetable box! We have been getting the boxes since Dec 2017. Our son is what I would consider a ‘picky’ eater but he loves going to pick up the veggies, unloading them when they come home and even playing with them. We talk a lot about where the veggies come from and how they are grown. It has really helped his relationship with food. We love the variety and options each week!

I've been getting the harvest box from YYC growers for 2 years now. You'll find interesting vegetables that will expand your cooking imagination and feel good about supporting local growers. It's not cheap, but local organic food isn't cheap at co-op either. I highly recommend adding in the vegan caesar dressing!

Just a heads up on our recent experience with YYC Growers... We were a customer for a couple years, but recently had to cancel our subscription because our schedules weren't working out, and we were often finding the produce came near end-of-life and our food waste was becoming too high. Facts only below:-Nov 29: Requested cancellation, asked for either a refund on the funds remaining or to have it transitioned for use in the farm store (the latter of which the business chose)-Dec 1: Sent an e-mail because the online store working wasn't working well for me, which had been a recurring issue but not the end of the world-Go back and forth for a couple of days. I send screenshots of the issues, etc.-Later Dec 1, they send me an email stating: We aren't having any access issues with other customers accessing accounts or any IT issues"

I live alone and manage to make a weekly subscription work, but I do invite my neighbors over for dinner occasionally. It costs about $30/week, but the trial box is a little bit more because it costs them more work to organize. They deliver on a weekly basis to a set list of pickup points, or to your house for an extra fee. In each box there is a mix of locally grown leafy greens and root vegetables; this is what I'm getting this week to give you a sense, but it changes every week.Basil - EcoGrowth CalgaryLiving Lettuce - Southern Skies ProduceMicrogreens - MicroYYCCeleriac - Amiable OrganicsCarrots - Poplar Bluff OrganicsPotatoes - Poplar Bluff OrganicsShiitake Mushrooms - Pennybun’s MushroomsThat's part of the fun of cooking for me at least. I get a list each Monday of what's coming later in the week, and do some jazz in the kitchen to pull my meals together when my groceries arrive.

I have been ordering produce from YYC Growers for 2 and half years now. I am always impressed at the quality and I feel good knowing I am supporting local businesses, while reducing my carbon food print. After reading a couple negative reviews below I felt compelled to write a review as someone who has been using the service for a longer time. The quantity provided can be smaller at given times depending on the season, however:1) If you look at the produce provided it is generally comparable to what Community will charge for the same brand as often lower with everything combined.2) I believe the quality is superior to what I normally get at the grocery store in terms of taste and longevity of the produce in my fridge. I can’t be sure of the reason, but I believe this is because it is fresher since it is locally produced.3) The statement that it is only enough for a salad is BS.Ultimately I choose to buy from YYC growers based on my personal beliefs and ethics. I know that my money is supporting a local company which sources it products from other local businesses. As consumers our choices are powerful tools. If you’re looking for the same quantity of produce you’ll get at Costco or Walmart you will be disappointed. Unfortunately, the overhead of the little farms is higher than that of the giant producers. In addition, you can actually meet the farmer who are growing your food! Also, I have always had good customer service with YYC Growers.

I am so happy that we were recommended to YYC Growers. We have been with them for close to 9 months and absolutely love the program. The harvest box is always full of excellent produce. We also participate in the egg share and occasionally add in meat or other products from the web store. We love supporting local farmers! It is more expensive than buying from some grocers but that is the trade-off to get local, ethical, sustainable food due to the costs of production. For those that can afford it, I think it really is worth that extra cost. The quality of the food is better too!
