Hertz Car Rental - Inverness Airport

The collection is not by the airport terminal (as advertised) and there is almost zero signage where to got to collect your car, which admittedly seems partly the fault of Inverness Airport. The only sign that exists is hidden inside a bus shelter on the other side of the car park with a phone number to ring for a shuttle collection. Other competitors run regular scheduled shuttles with a much more professional service.Despite a fully pre-paid reservation, my credit card was charged an extra £200+ after returning the vehicle (due to their error failing to record the fuel tank being returned full). Very difficult to resolve via Hertz customer service email but luckily could phone the local branch. Still waiting for the refund to be processed so will update review once it comes through.The car was very nice.

DONT rent from this location. USE SIXT or EUROPCAR. I haven’t had issues with Hertz in the past but the service here was incredibly poor. Employee Joanna Ibrahim was rude and dismissive. When our 3:45 flight from Heathrow was 45 minutes late, she left the office empty. After failing to reach hertz via phone, we had to taxi to town and back in the morning to get our car which was prepaid. She refused to accept any responsibility. The SIXT shuttle driver was kind and helpful.

First of all, Hertz-Inverness Airport location is wrong on GoogleMaps... it shows Hertz as being inside" the airport however the actual location of Hertz is just beside SIXT's location on GoogleMaps which is around 12 minute walk far from the passengers Terminal. No sidewalks on the way so when the weather is wet

Do not use this Hertz location. I reserved a compact petrol automatic vehicle for a trip to the Isle of Skye May 2023 in October of 2022. I provided flight details in my reservation. I was delayed and when I tried to change the flight details, the app allowed me to delete the original information, but not add new information. I arrived four hours after the pick-up time"

DO NOT rent from here. I was charged almost 600 GBP for damage I did not do. I rent cars all the time for my job, and this has never been an issue. I requested a damage history of the vehicle to help prove my case and was ignored. I wonder why…This was my first and last time using this location. Stay far away.

Was ok but the car we had was damaged. Chip on windscreen which could have gone at anytime and was told we would be responsible. No other cars.

Here’s how Hertz treat customers:Delivered our rental car in top-notch condition ( with photos to prove) to an unsupervised dropoff at Inverness carpark as requested. Two days later Hertz take photos say the car has been scratched and charge us $842, despite requesting phone conversation with a manager.Unless we are contacted immediately to discuss this and the money returned, an official complaint will be lodged and we will absolutely never use Hertz again.Not only THEFT but negligent customer care, scurrilous money-grubbing tactics.Stay away from Hertz!

Will never use Hertz again. Picked up a car from inverness airport. Told me there was damage to the car, upon inspection there was no damage at all and agent didn't know what to say. It was obvious that this location likes to play the Scam for Damage game. So when I dropped the car off I took hi-resolution images of every panel and a 4k video of the whole car. GUESS WHAT. They tried to claim two light scratches, which do not exist! Have also advised the 35,000 travel agents that I work with to avoid hertz for their clients and especially inverness.

I rented a car for 1 day from Edinburgh airport and drove to Inverness. Here was the worst experience in my 17 year car renting history.- I was not given the petrol car that I booked- I was given an electric vehicle and assured that it drives the same. This was completely false. It does not drive the same. (the SuperCover Excess insurance coverage is also not the same)- The return report shows damages that I am not responsible for and charged for it. There was no discussion with me and my credit card was directly charged. As per your policy, you need my signature.- I agree to the front bumper repair charge of GBP 132. All the other damages were not done by me. I parked the car overnight at the airport parking, as instructed and am not responsible for what might have happened in that parking.- The branch manager, Joanna Ibrahim, at Hertz Inverness Airport was the rudest person I have ever met. Instead of trying to help or support, she was just trying to blame me. Horrible, horrible person to deal with.- I agreed for the pre-payment of energy charge of GBP 37. I was not told anything about a minimum percentage battery return. I am charged GBP 18.90 for low battery. I am also charged an extra amount of 52.09 GBP. Please explain this charge.- I paid for the highest available insurance which was the GBP 500 excess. For this car, Polestar, your rules do not allow zero excess. This was once again, not informed. I had booked a Ford Fiesta or similar, vehicle group S. We had taken a zero excess option. This changed when I was given the Polestar as my only choice. And was not informed that the SuperCover Excess changes from GBP ZERO to GBP 500.- With the above in mind, if it was a zero excess, I would not have to pay the GBP 132. However, as a responsible driver, I am willing to accept responsibility for it.- Every other rental agency discusses any post rental charges with customer before charging. This has been my experience worldwide across can rental companies. This did not happen in this rental.- I have been trying every phone number given to me, and have not managed to talk to a single human being.Overall, it has been the worst car rental experience in every way possible. The car was not comfortable to drive. And I am being charged for damages that I am NOT responsible for.This experience completely hampered my state of mind while on vacation. It took away time to report this issue and the mental stress for my family and I for being charged 3 times more than what was agreed. It is not a small amount.I haven rented in the US, Europe, Australia & India with Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Enterprise, Budget etc. I have always had a wonderful experience. This was a renting experience that is still giving me nightmares.

Very very bad. Was charged $300+ for “damages” to my rental and there were no damages to this car AT ALL. I kept very good care of it and feel ripped off. Hertz will make up things and steal from you. DO NOT rent from them, especially at this location. Very very bad people and customer service is not helpful either. Would not ever recommend renting from Hertz to anyone.
