About the Business

Not much of a prison anymore but still a cool way to spend 45 minutes

Overpriced at 9$ for a gallery that goes for one room and barely another. Even at similar price range, any other jail-museums across both QC and ON have so much more to offer. This one deserves to be on-donation-basis instead. It's maybe arguably interesting just for historical readings, it is bilingual too, that's about it. No wonder there is practically no interior photos of cells and other prison areas to see. For authentic jail touring experience and the whole thrill of being inside a jail, look elsewhere.

Everything was in French and you have to carry around a binder with you for the English translation. No jail cells to see either, the museum is basically 2 rooms in the basement.

This was a smaller museum but it was full of interesting history about the early formings of the government, not just the prison

Though the museum itself was little more than large panels with pictures and text, it was a very interesting introduction to some of Quebec's tumultuous history regarding the Patriotes in Lower Canada. The panels were also all in French but an English translated booklet was provided to us for the duration of the exhibit.
