Plains Motel Brooks

The Plains Motel is fabulous in the heart of Brooks Alberta, a small town in the Southeastern end of the province. The Town is often busy with travellers across Canada with Highway #1 running past the north end. I found The Plains to be a lovely place, particularly considering it is a motel. There is another motel not fair which is a nightmare in comparison in every aspect. The Plains Motel offers safety and security, decent mattresses, and sheets which are washed–unlike the aforementioned lodging 700 yards south. The Plains could improve with higher quality towels as they absorb no water, and a bit better vacuuming, among various lesser, nitpicks. Yet, it is a motel, not a Fairmont or Four Seasons, thus nitpicking is not included in the cost. I hope this helps anyone visiting Brooks, Alberta, Canada.

We stayed at this motel on August 1st. 2020 while traveling from Toronto to Banff Alberta. We really enjoyed our stay at this family owned and operated Motel. The office was remained open until we arrived at around 9:15 pm. and we were greeted with a warm welcome. The room was simple, comfortable and meticulously clean. The amazing customer service was also another point to mention.

I am here for business quite often every year and after trying a couple other hotels, I found this motel to be the best - FOR YEARS!I have witnessed its transition from key locks and tube televisions to key cards and flat screen TVs.The staff here is very friendly and accommodating; and, the hotel itself is VERY AFFORDABLE.It’s been managed by the same couple that were here the first time I stayed here ALMOST 10 YEARS ago! They seem to be doing everything right and I’m always happy that they’re still here to take care of me.And, there’s a grocery store right across the street - that, too, saves my company money!

One of the cleanest motels in Brooks ,I definitely recommend it for 2 night stays or long term stays , and it's close to almost everything, walmart,dollorama, McDonald's,redbasket and subway,etc,etc.

This is an older motel, but rooms are clean, with great towels, bed was fairly new and in great condition. There are a few condition issues in the room, but they are things to be expected from an older building. It looks like they are spending some money trying to make them comfortable. Especially for the price they charge. I would definitely stay here again.

Friendly staff, very accommodating and kind.Basic room that's clean and just what i needed after 12 hours on the road. The only downside is the noisy people in the next room but that's a given at any motel.The woman at reception was willing to stay open later to ensure we got a room. I would definitely stay here again.

First, the staff was very accommodating. We went to the Calgary Stampede that day and we were going to the states the next day so we went to Brooks because it was far enough from Calgary to not pay Stampede price. I called the motel to see how late they were open and if they could stay open to check us in and they said they'd wait till 11pm, an hour after they closed which was perfect. We ended up getting in at 10pm and they had everything ready for us. The room was clean and comfortable. The lighting could've been better. We didn't stay long in Brooks so I can't say much for the area. Overall the stay was nice. We didn't use the pool so no review for that.

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay at this family owned and operated Motel. We were met with a warm welcome and checked into our room in a timely manner. The room was simple, accessible, comfortable, clean and safe. We both enjoyed our stay and the amazing customer service; and because of this, I will be returning customer in the future.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Other then that it was not a good experience. There was no way to control the heat and the room was very hot. The fan in the bathroom was very loud. We were on the second floor and the steps and balcony was not shoveled first thing in the morning and was also very slippery. We left the room about 9am the cleaning ladies were out there but when we returned at supper time our room had not been made up... that is my biggest pet peeve. We will not be back.
