Random fees being charged, they never sent me a bill so it’s like they want to charge me more for late payment. Wish I had gone with another hydro company unfortunately they have me trapped due to my area.Debbie never called me back, I had to call Rachel again as she also never called me back either then accused me of wasting their time with back and forth emails. Apparently they’re understaffed, probably because the company is so poorly run and the staff seem miserable. I never authorized a credit check that they charged me for and coincidentally I never received that bill in the mail. They said they need my SIN and DOB for a credit check but then Rachel said they don’t, so I have no idea how they tried to run it without this info?! Beware of this company!

Evil, Greedy, tries to offset poor management and business structure risks by putting an unreasonable demand of hundreds of dollars for a security deposit from people who are too poor or unable to set up monthly payments.To ELk, learn to operate a profitable business you operate an essential service. To ask for a security deposit from low income families after they asked to waive it is illegal under regulations. I should not have to argue with customer service about it.Horrible experience from day 1 with these guys. Wish I could switch providers, but you can't....and somehow we still allow this evil type of greed at the expense of citizens. our essential service providers need to meet higher standards.

ELK is the WORST energy provider I've ever seen in my time on this planet. I've built and serviced multiple substations, and worked in the Hydro industry for a LONG time. I've never before seen such a pitiful excuse for a business, ever. The amount of outages and time to recover is pathetic. The fact that they are charging for this service, and I use that term loosely, should be criminal. I've lived in remote rural towns over BC, Alberta and the Yukon that are challenging to service. They make ELK look like it's staffed by people who've never worked in the field/trade before. What is going on? Why the secrecy? I'd rather pay Hydro one double than receive the current service I'm getting.

Lack of updates regarding ongoing outages. Belleriver has been out almost 24hrs - this was a predictable outage.

The only reason that I gave them a 1, because there was no way to give them a -10..ANSWER YOUR FREAKIN' PHONE!!!

I shouldn't have to buy a gas powered generator, JUST BECAUSE my power company is with E.L.K Energy. I feel most third world countries have better and more stable hydro with their energy providers. Isn't there an existing petition going around to get rid of ELK Energy?

Have had no power for going on 50 hours now in the dead middle of winter. Absolutely useless customer service all the food in our house has gone bad, impossible to get ahold of them. Could care less for their customers , need a new supplier for essex county you guys are a joke. You'd think they'd move with more urgency in a situation like this or better yet have a plan for when something like this happens? Pathetic. Anyone else rockin' 45°F in their house?

-1000000000000/10Horrible customer service, they never know what's going on in power outages specially the recent one which was ongoing for basically 2 days. This is Canada not Australia and yet there work is like this is the first time the encountered working in a cold place. We called them several times and what the basically say is that there working on it, they never know what they are doing, are they even trained???! Where did you get them from? McDonald's!!?

This company should be sold or contracted out to someone who k ows how to run a Company. As for the 5 star rating by Adrian Wyrzykowski, I think that he is the manager of E.L.K., former manager, or a relative of Adrian..nice try, fella!

no issues in our area, customer service has been good and pricing is as reasonable as the OEB will set. The online customer portal is quite dated as most of the flash functionality is broken but it is functional for what we need.
