John and Irish's NOFRILLS Calgary

A nice and new No Frills supermarket in Carrington! The store is decently sized, definitely smaller than real Canadian Superstores but with a good selection of everyday grocery produce and items. The store is obviously clean and tidy as it’s very new and you’ll find most of what you need here. The prices seem to be a little pricier than Superstore in my experience but nothing too outrageous. The parking lot is big and this store isn’t very busy so it’s a nice comfortable shopping experience. A nice addition to this area!

Solid little grocery.Visited March 3rd 2023.Clean, not busy at all, easy parking, good carts. Shelves were actively front faced.Staff were great and smiling...My only complaint Music was way too loud. I even had my own earbuds in and could overhear the music through them.When talking with my companion shopper we had to repeat ourselves a couple times.

New store with obvious growing pains. Tons of prices are completely wrong, or wrong prices on the display. The staff has not been trained properly, and do not know they are supposed to abide by The Scanning Code of practice (The basic premise of the scanning code of practice goes something like this: If the scanned price of an item containing a barcode is higher than the price on the shelf, the customer will receive the item for free, up to $10. If the item is more than $10, the customer will receive $10 off the item’s price.) Tried to explain how they need to abide by SCOP but they had no idea what I was talking about. This is clearly a lack of training and a management issue. Note the attached photo, it's an endcap with a display, the price indicates eggs for 3.99 however the till runs them through at 6.09. (you can see three other cartons thay people dropped off after seeing the price of these eggs.) Clearly a labeling issue on there end, but I need to argue that this was their mistake, and in looking at the photo you will see that it is for the product. I was not happy when I left.

A New No Frills store serving the North West of Calgary. The store is spacious and beautiful, and their prices are affordable. They did not have some groceries that I wanted, like the No Frills in the North East.

New and fresh to the plaza!!. Feels like all other No Frills... Discounted grocery that I can finally use my PC points and don't have to trek 15mins to get to Superstore.Wish there was more meat selections but this is good enough for a quick grab and go!..

Visited today during grand opening.Staff were friendly and helpful. Store was very clean with a good layout. So happy this is in the neighborhood!Only thing we see being a problem is the size of the parking lot, especially on weekends.

I really missed no frill after moving from sw to nw. I surprised to see this branch is open near my living area. All products are fresh with reasonable price.

Wanted to shop at our new NO FRILLS in our neighborhood today but I don't carry cash. A toonie is required for their carts. I approached a young stock boy who reached out to a woman who seemed to be in charge. She told me I needed a toonie. I inquired about borrowing a slug or something like other stores use but no, a coin would be required. She ran off before I could point out their sign posted in the entrance about helping Disabled people which I obviously am. Just a sticker I guess.Oh well back to Costco....they have free carts!

A small-ish grocery store compared to the likes of Superstore and Costco. It's missing some items but because it's new... it's nice and clean and not too busy which is very convenient. I hope they stay nice and clean. Unlike some Superstore locations, which have become complete and a total disaster. Overall recommended if you live in the area and are looking to buy a quick few items.

I visited this brand new No Frills in Carrington on its second day Feb. 3rd, 2023.Store looks great from outside and inside.Ample of parking, fresh produce and meat and very nice friendly staff.It is a bright, well lay-out store, easy to walk in between the isles and generally perfect fit for new communities of Carrington and Livingstone.I’m big fan of self check-out and i was so happy to see this store had new(er) self-checkouts.My recommendation to the franchisee(s) John & Irish is that to keep up with the good work and i hope every time i visit to get my groceries the store will look and feel like the grand opening. Time will tell.
