Fantastic restaurant with some unique and delicious food. Went here for my birthday and my girlfriend and I were not disappointed. The bugak, potato pancake, and chicken wings were all very tasty. However, what really blew us away was the beef short rib platter. What an incredibly tender and well seasoned dish. I'm pretty sure I could have finished off the whole thing myself. Highly recommend, as it is a large dish and comes with banchan. Desserts were also really delicious but at that point my stomach reached its limit. Also, great service from out server, who took our jackets and recommended us apps to start with. I will 100% be recommending this place to my friends and colleagues.

Wow. Everything from cocktails, to service (s/o to Tommy), to food. Bone in short rib - the perfect shareable and meat is melt in your mouth delicious. Overall, excellent time. Can’t wait to be back!

Cozy narrow interior, fun drink options, interesting menu. We had a great time. The mousse was a bit too salty; I understand maybe it was to boost the sweet flavours but maybe was a bit too much. The pear drink mostly tasted like pear juice.. maybe a bit more alcohol, etc? Other drink was great. Im not sure if its the lighting but rear half of the restaurant felt a bit dark and dull. The service was good overall. I would come again to try other things on the menu.

Finally got to try this Korean Fusion restaurant in Yorkville. Parking is convenient with underground carpark next to it.Overall quite disappointed. On a Wed night, it is only 60% full which is a surprised. Not enough servers and some server needs more training. The foods are quite nice but no surprised to the palette! Prices are reasonable and cockages is $50 per btl. The signature dish (Short RIbs plate) is quite good and the beef is very soft....I think the whole rib is braised first then grilled. The meat is overcooked and too soft and less flavored. (slow cooking will improve this). The restaurant is seriously understaff and both kitchen and servers. It took ages for any food to come, even ice cream that does not need to cook. Not deserve to have the Michelin Bib Gourmet. Can try.

PHENOMENAL!The perfect word to describe a meal at 156 Cumberland. From a friendly greeting upon entry all the way through to the well wishes and thanks on our way out, everything about 156 was… well, phenomenal! As it was our first time dining at 156 we asked Grace for some of advice on the menu and were so glad we did! We went with a few of the crowd favourites and opted for the daily special also. (The power of a pic on the gram worked! It was too pretty a dish to pass up!)We started with the beef tartare, served up unlike anywhere else! Followed by another house fave, the stuffed chicken wings! By far the best chicken wing I’ve had! The special of the day followed, Hiramasa tartare… unbelievably light and delicious! (and almost too pretty to eat!)The mains followed. The mushroom jook with summer truffle was out of this world good. First time having jook, and it won’t be the last. We were rather hungry, so we went with the beef short rib with all the fixings to finish. We enjoyed that more than words can state. So flavourful! With just barely enough room for dessert, we opted to share the roasted brown rice ice cream. A perfect end!Regrettably we did not partake of any wine, but their cocktails were delightful!I would highly recommend everyone give 156 Cumberland a try! I couldn’t imagine anyone being disappointed with a meal there! Many thanks to all the FOH and BOH people for an amazing evening!

Words can’t describe my dinner experience here. Let these pictures do the talking instead. Not one dish that we ordered that did not meet expectations. They were all cooked to perfection. Not only do they taste incredible, they look pretty and very photogenic too!

I’ve been here several times, and I absolutely love this place! The contemporary Korean fusion cuisine is done excellently and their dishes are really creative. I’m personally a huge fan of their starters and seconds, though their mains are also great. I feel like their dishes have improved since I first came here 2 years ago, and the current menu is definitely my favourite so far. Excited for my next time here!

The food was good, but short of a 5, the flavours just wasn’t there. High on the list were the oysters and beef tartare.

156 Cumberland does a great take on contemporary Korean cuisine. The atmosphere is cozy. All around a great spot for dates or get together as with friends.

It's a rare event that we've loved every single dish we've ordered at a restaurant recently. So my husband and I were pleasantly surprised when we visited 156 Cumberland last night. We both absolutely enjoyed each dish - from the beef tartare, chicken wings, squid noodles (not pictured here), mushroom jook, halibut, and lamb saddle - each was well-seasoned and had well-balanced flavour and textures that complemented each other so beautifully. The service was stellar and attentive and the pace that the dishes arrived at our table was perfect. You can really see and taste the influence that the chef's French training has on the dishes that he's composed. We can't wait to visit again!
